Everything was nearly perfect, we decide to take tent with us, so we camp on the way, lots of animals jackals, antelopes and others. Only big disappointment for us was habit to throw trash out from town, was really disgusting close to some towns near nathareth

We liked this walk.

Nice track, pretty simple, beautiful views

Short hike, great view. Better to do early morning, before it gets too hot.

Very nice, but overcrowded. Make sure to go there on working days and not during school vacation.

If you’re here in August make sure to have water an umbrella for shade. No mater the time of year you’ll need to have your shoulders covered and a dress or pants on if you’re going to want to get in.

We did this hike last week (May 14 - May 17 2019). It was an awesome challenge/experience for my wife and I who are in our early 60's. What made it a little more difficult than normal is the weather was in the low 100's each day. Made sure you bring plenty of water. We consumed at least 3 liters each day. May weather can be unpredictable. I recommend March or late fall. The total for our hike was ~50 miles due to getting lost a few times. Each day we hiked ~12 miles. We were in a small group so that helped. The Inns that we stayed each night were great (Fauzi Azar, Cana Wedding House, Lavi Hotel and Arbel cabins) and the food served was excellent and will not leave anyone hungry. It was also a great culture experience because 2 of the inns where Arab and 2 were Jewish. We had a guide and still got a little lost a few times, but we saw others on the trail without guides who made it to the end.

I did a self-supported race summiting Masada via the Snake Path 9x through the early morning to afternoon. This route is arduous, but fulfilling whether you are hiking up/down one time or multiple. 9x will give you just over 10k ft of ascent or 3,050 meters and about 25 miles or 40 kilometers. If you want the real experience, forgo the gondola ride all together. For ultra runners and those in mountain running, this is a technical, mostly single-track course that's more like stair climbing than running trail as its composed largely of stone steps. For the gravel sections, it's loose stone with embankments you can use to your advantage. You don't want to fall on the downhill on this trail as the risk of injury is real. I made the mistake of going out too hard and did not use poles on the first 4 trips. This caused my legs muscles everywhere to lock up for the remainder of the day so if you're make a serious workout out of this, slow and steady with spot on nutrition and hydration is a requirement. FYI, you'll burn through electrolytes as it's dry and hot here. Miscellaneous: - Have your receipt for the entry to the trail handy as you'll be asked for it nearly each trip - if you want to get in additional running, but more flat, try running from the trail entry to park entry- it's a long road but not flat. For zero grade I went to Arad and ran alongside the Dead Sea in town to finish my miles. - this is a very special place to run...the views are unique and beautiful - the Dead Sea couldn't be a better place to soak your legs in afterward, I had zero swelling the morning after...just start early enough so you can get into the sea before dark

Our timing was perfect (March 18, 2019) Recent heavy rains had given way to plants and flowers which are not seen here every year. We avoided the large groups by turning up side canyons

Loved hiking this with friends but the first 1/4 of the trail leaving Nazareth to Zippori is not well marked. Spent a lot of time trying to figure out if we were on the actual trail or not. Don’t let that deter you though. The first 1/4 was beautiful. Make sure you have walking sticks though. We were trailed by a pack of dogs for a good while. The trail leaving to Zippori to Cana was breathtaking.

We are here!
