Nice trail with a wide diversity of landscapes
start on the lower part, following the lake. It will be easier and more interesting. You'll also not start with 1000 steps to go straight to the upper part and you'll have better views.

A great walk.

Super views

Brilliant hike. Ancient church ruins and graveyard, hill climb in well maintained wooded paths, high open terrain with plunging and rocky views, ruined mine works, rocky stream, pretty lakes, leafy flat woodsy stroll, and boardwalk around enclosed meadows.

Went mountain biking. ..great spot easy to reach from Dublin. And the weather made it...It's scenic just get out there and enjoy.

Amazing views especially in good weather with a nice breeze along the ridge. Really enjoyed it.

Great hike with lovely views. We went clockwise and loved the views, easy enough with a couple of tough spots.
Highly recommended.

Lovely views , went up with a 2 year old , well worth a hike

Walked from the carpark through the grave yard. Did the blue route-met very few hikers along this route until we reached the lough so perhaps not ideal for the lone walker from a saftey perspective, plenty of equally as good trials to choose from. Very enjoyable hike, tough given the humidity on the day. Good distance with steep steps toward the peek. The views and landscape are amoung the best in Ireland.

This is a great walk with incredible views and steeped in history. I personally would have enjoyed it more without all the boardwalk and gravel trail but I understand the desire to make it more accessible for tourism.

Stunning views. Worth the hike!

Fun. The board tracks take time getting used to but they are necessary for wet conditions I’m sure

Amazing views and well built out path

This has been by far my most enjoyable hiking thus far. It was difficult until he beginning but as we came around the lake side it was truly a site to see!

It’s a great hike. We went when I was snowy so it was quite icy. We went clockwise and I am happy we did the stairs first. It’s a beautiful view and it took us about 3:30 because of the wind, ice and snow.

An easy scenic route for all ages.

Super fun, beautiful views, red deer, and cultural sites.

Completed on Sept. 13 2017. Wonderful hike! My sister and I have hiked in lots of locations around the world, we both agreed that this one was incredibly unique. Views of ruins, lakes, wildlife including sheep, deer and goats. Do the hike counterclockwise around lake. Makes summiting the mountain much more enjoyable!

We went counter clockwise around the lake and were glad we did. Amazing views of the lakes in the valley! It was dry at the bottom but walking along the ridge at the top it rained a lot. It is Ireland afterall, so we were prepared with rain gear and still had a great hike.
