Lovely views , went up with a 2 year old , well worth a hike

Walked from the carpark through the grave yard. Did the blue route-met very few hikers along this route until we reached the lough so perhaps not ideal for the lone walker from a saftey perspective, plenty of equally as good trials to choose from. Very enjoyable hike, tough given the humidity on the day. Good distance with steep steps toward the peek. The views and landscape are amoung the best in Ireland.

This is a great walk with incredible views and steeped in history. I personally would have enjoyed it more without all the boardwalk and gravel trail but I understand the desire to make it more accessible for tourism.

Unearthly. A grand auld stretch of the legs, nothing too strenuous, though boots are essential.

came here to bike but singn in fron of car park showing not allowed to mountain bike. so i just walked. it is easy walk

Stunning views. Worth the hike!

This was an amazing hike with beautiful views. You need to make sure that you are prepared physically and mentally for this hike. It is difficult--take your time and stay safe! I definitely underestimated the amount of loose rocks.

We also sawany mountian rescue vehicles and the Irish coast guard out during out hike to rescue someone.

Fun. The board tracks take time getting used to but they are necessary for wet conditions I’m sure

A amazing walk that I have done a few times.
Only to be done on a quiet day.
When windy it can be dangerous to go to the top.
Steep on some part but overall a definite walk to do in connemara.
Can't wait for the next sunny day to go again.

Amazing views and well built out path

The trail is not dog friendly. We were with dog there last week and we were not allowed to hike there.

What a windy walk! It’s steep and nearly all uphill. Step off the rail and sink. But the wind is the toughest part.

Absolutely beautiful waterfall! It was a quick and easy walk from the parking lot.

We completed the hike in 7 hours. My husband and I regularly hike mountains and even rock climb. We both found this hike to be difficult to safely navigate during the descent. We took the ladder up (3.5 hours). There was a bit of a traffic jam multiple times. Hikers above us occasionally knocked rocks downward. We enjoyed the ladder ascent. We took the O’Shea fully descent. Quite a bit of scree and a few traversing scrambles were involved in the descent. This particular trail becomes less defined after passing a small pond.

Overall, it was a beautiful hike. However, it should not be hiked without taking the appropriate precautions (map, compass, headlamp, etc). We saw a helicopter arrive while we were descending to pickup a hiker near the peak. People have died on this hike.

Great hike. Follow the route start Left, finish Right. The wind can be blowing so dress appropriately.

Fantastic hike. The best we've done in Ireland, the view from the top is amazing. But also the toughest one we've ever done. We were not prepared. Don't go do it if you're not a good hiker, the way up is tough but the way down is the real tricky part and get dangerous at many points. It's easy to make a wrong move and hurt yourself really bad or even kill yourself. But if you're confident and prepared you should definitely go for it.

Amazing views great trial

Great views from the top in all directions

very nice. not hard and beautiful.

This has been by far my most enjoyable hiking thus far. It was difficult until he beginning but as we came around the lake side it was truly a site to see!

It’s a great hike. We went when I was snowy so it was quite icy. We went clockwise and I am happy we did the stairs first. It’s a beautiful view and it took us about 3:30 because of the wind, ice and snow.

Took a bus from Galway to Letterfrack for the day and this trial did not disappoint. Beautiful views at the summit. Would rank it as moderate in terms of endurance relative to most mountains I’ve climbed, short and simple (no hands needed).

Very short but nice park

Beautiful hike with breathtaking views. Traffic on the trails in July and August but worth it.

As an escape from a multi-generation family vacation my wife and I got to sneek out for nature fun. This hike was a well needed relief. Gorgeous views easy route finding and just enough steep stuff to keep the heart rate up.(nice in January) The "ladder" part was steep and supper loose looking from below but the wet mossy rocks were extra sticky. Of course be careful but it's not as bad as it looks. The summit was as to be expected. Beautiful! Car to car took us five hours with picture stops and beer beaks. If you're in the area and get a good weather window this hike is a must. Have fun.

An easy scenic route for all ages.
