So beautiful lovely walk/hike. Gets steep for a bit beautiful view of Killarney a ways up. Waterfall is stunning

Great hiking
One side( right) steep and a little more difficult , but we’re protect from the hard wind .
Going down , on a easier way . Also rainy , partially fog and windy day. But worth a lot the gorgeous journey .
It’s possible to do the hiking just t’ll the lakes , around 2h round trip .

Perfect moderate trail that includes the famous cardiac steps at the start abs opens up to a lovely view of the lakes. Also includes a forest trail.

great hike, not too bad as far as difficulty. Rain & fog rolled in just as we were doing the actual mountain so we couldn't catch any of the view. But even with the rain, the wood on the trail was not slippery because of a wire mesh they installed on it. Nice to walk on.

We ended up only having time to hike out to the point and back from the side of the road. It was breathtaking.

Beautiful views of rugged terrain and herds of sheep throughout the hike.

Beautiful easy walk with breathtaking views!

just did the hike. Will agree with the others, the end was definitely challenging. Make sure you have on proper sneakers with a good grip as the rocks are slippery. Well worth the view though, took about 2.5 hours in total

Easy trail with spectacular views! Lots of sheep poo too

I did the blue walking loop , fairly easy small up and down but nice stroll through the woodlands

Loved the hike! The scrambling up the rocks are not too extreme although you should be in decent shape/athletic. The day started off clear with blue skies and it was beautiful. At the peak the clouds had rolled in. We hiked up the scramble rocks, made it to the peak, and on the decent we walked down a little ways, walked along the ridge (pretty narrow) and down the switchback. I recommend this as your plan. Great beautiful hike!!

Beautiful hike and really worth it! Views over the Killarney lakes from the top are amazing.

If you are a good hiker and used to going up mountains/volcanoes, this hike is fairly easy. A lot of loose rocks, so better not to do it in wet weather and better to do it with trekking poles, but nothing that feels like a strong workout.
And I’d say, taking your time, being careful with the terrain and with good gear, really accessible to all sorts of hikers.

would call it more moderate-hard due to several difficult stone sections with difficult footing.

views from the top and even on the way up are very good in good weather

Great hike! My boyfriend and I did the entire thing in about 3.5 hours. We went up the chute and down the switchbacks considering it was very stormy throughout the entire hike. If you are a strong hiker you won't need poles and it is a very laid back approach and you will want your hands for the chute. For the chute, we didn't encounter anything that appeared treacherous though I can see people getting in trouble if they aren't wearing enough layers as it got really cold especially as we approached the top. A good rain jacket, rain pants, and gloves are what I would recommend above everything else.

Amazing hike. I did this hike with my boyfriend, both of us are quite serious outdoorsy people and love Ireland (he's from IE) so this was a great trip for the two of us. Whole thing took about 4 hours, we went during a hurricane last October, it was stormy but dry on ascent, just before summit it started pouring and didn't stop for the duration. Be prepared to scramble, climb and get soaked.

Rain wear, hiking boots and hiking poles are advised.

A really nice hike that is mixed between Road & Track. As a family we have done this dozens of times. Plenty of rest/picnic areas. Now it’s tough in parts but all in all a nice few hours out. Beautiful scenery of Dingle, Rossbeigh, Glenbeigh & Glencar. Aged 6plus for tired legs. Not a busy route either! Enjoy this

Beautiful views of waterfall and wildlife.

Easy hike with spectacular scenery.

Great walk. Worth it for the view. Amazing vista of Killarney and the lakes from the top. Very doable. Take your time. it will pay off at the top.

Blue trail, 12km, easy to moderate loop walk.

First part of the trail is no longer a forest path. Instead, you'll be walking over the wind farm access roads for the first 4 kilometers.
Keep following these until you reach the bridge at the source of the river Blackwater. (there are no trail markings here)
Once across the bridge, take the first right to leave the wind farm road and follow the blue markers downhill over a forestry track.
Look out for a sign telling you to go right, off the forestry track, straight into the forest.
This bit can be challenging in rainy weather as the path is overgrown and the ground can get very marshy.
Go left at the first abandoned cottage.
After a while you'll get back on the forestry path, follow it down to the asphalt road, cross the Doctor's Hill bridge, and leave the main road again to your right after about two hundred after the bridge.
Probably a nice walk in good weather, interesting enough in bad weather once you are past the wind farm bit.
Views can be nice, but often there will be either windmills or deforestation in your field of view.
The shorter green walk will only lead you through the forests and fields and keeps you away from the plant a bit more.

Absolutely breathtaking, not too difficult! Should be at the top of everyone's bucket list, so much to do and see around Killarney aswell

Great views if you’re lucky with weather. Took us four hours. Rescue helicopter came and pulled someone off of mountain while we were finishing.

Amazing views. Great for kids. The last 1/8 mile is on a busy road though.

Beautiful walk

Ahhhh, the faeries, no doubt!

Was a very pleasant walk. Nothing hard, just a stroll. Fantastic views of the coastline.

We were a bit nervous as we left Cronin's yard because of all the warning signs and memorials at the trail head. But I'm glad that we marched on as it was a great 6hr hike with epic views. We recommend going up the devil's ladder but going down the zig zag for a safer route back down. Be sure to watch your steps as people trip and fall regularly. As we hiked up the ladder, we came across a woman who had trip going down from the summit and looked pretty scratched up... Just be careful and check the weather before heading to make sure you don't get caught in rain, fog or high winds. It can get very slippery since most of the hike is on rocks. Unless you're expecienced, we wouldn't recommend doing it in the winter or in bad weather. Besides, you'll miss all the stunning scenery!

One of the best hikes I’ve ever done!
