Challenging going up, mainly because it’s so constant. Even after the zig zags, you’re continually moving up. Great views near the top. Cloud cover at the summit despite the weather being decent. Rewarding climb overall.

Very enjoyable hike and a treasure of a park, less than an hour away from Dublin. Some trails are better marked than others, but manageable terrain either way. If you use the coordinates that AllTrails offers to find the park, it will bring you to the entrance, where I began my hike. If you keep going on the road slightly right of here though, it will bring you to the other car park (which I realized well into my hike). This brings you closer to the river and cliff trails. From the cliff trail, you can easily access the other trails that meander through the interior of the park. Great variety of both scenery and sounds on this hike. Highly recommend! To note: I had to stop the recording of my hike a bit early as my phone was low on battery, but as you’ll see from the map, it was fairly easy to loop back to where I began. Enjoy!

Great photo opportunities along the river bank. Enjoyable walk.

The difficulty of this trail lies in the physical effort required for the initial ascend from the valley. No climbing or other technical difficulties and the trail, while almost unmarked is very obviously visible so orientation is no problem. Sadly, both times I used this route the peak was covered in cloud so no great views available.
