Extremely slippy and very strong winds, but beautiful views

Very good trek but hard to find the trail at times. Don't let this put you off if the weather is fine. Not an unusual complaint for the Comeraghs.

Did it in November, 2018. I took a bike in Waterford City Center and rode the bike to this mountain. It’s about 40km. The hike is not really difficult but you need to be in shape.

Did this in the end of November, waa very foggy, cloudy, 70% of track was just fog and clouds, we saw the lake only at the end of the track once got down the hill. Very dangerous on the top once U cant see whats next in 5-10 meters. Wind on the top was as in Siberia.... , will be back once weather be nice....

Excellent hike, amazing scenery, proper ancient Ireland feeling up there. Takes anywhere from 2 hours to 4 hours to complete depending on your pace. Few different routes up to depending on the level of adventure your after.

astonishing view up there! i didn't make It for the whole loop as we started anticlockwise and Met a girl Who dicouraged me saying It was very muddy at a point, but my boyfriend did It easily. as said, do It with proper shoes and check weather!

This was a very tough climb but so worth it. Good weather definitely needed if you are not experienced. We were lucky to meet someone along the way who showed us the best path up a steep wall of rocks and gave directions for the descent. Definitely do it clockwise!!

Trial was amazing but extremely difficult. Has parts where you need to climb and down you have approx 300m of nothing. I agree that clock wise is much easier. I'm totally happy that I did it, views were gorgeous but I will not go again, too scary.

Great hike, not for a novice, mountain rescue were out on same day, pay attention to the weather, stay sensible.... Beautiful lake, stunning scenery, winds got very strong & driving rain but delighted to have it done.

This is probably my favourite short route in Ireland. In clear weather its stunning, in bad weather its a great test. Beautiful views and the terrain is paced perfectly to make it interesting and varied. Just make sure you go CLOCKWISE if your not a seasoned climber, Falling up rock faces is always easier than down them in my experience.

Great hike... Definitely check the weather... The first time we went we could only go to the lake as high winds prevented us going up to the ridge.
