I am 50 years old and hiked this trail twice. Once with my 17 year old son (March, 2019) and then with my husband. (September, 2019). It’s my most favorite hike because of the stunning views. The trail gets a bit rocky and steep near the top but it is doable!
Great trail, if you are looking for a nice walk following a trail I am sure there is an adequate park somewhere in Galway! If you want a test then this is for you. Walked this route on the first week of November in torrential rain, would only try this route if you know how to use a map and compass extremely well. Additionally there is a lot of fake peaks so be careful what you identify as a summit
A lovely and easy walk suitable for all ages and fitness. Plenty of car parking spaces and nice to finish your walk with refreshments in the Tearooms.

Extremely well maintained trail with beautiful views. It’s a solid hike with good parking. It’s a bit too tame for me so 4 out of 5 stars.
Had been a lot of rain in the days prior to hiking this trail so the groud was extremely waterlogged. Would advise being wary of the squish, had a couple if squelchy incidents. stunning view, challenging ascent. Had a great time.

Go early! Experiencing this trail in relative solitude was amazing. About 2ish hours with a few stops. Can be windy and a little wet but the views are worth it and the difficulty tops out with some steep stone steps. We enjoyed this very much!
