This is the most beautiful trail! It is 15k with no uphill bits. Stunning forest trails, parts along the ocean, and we've even seen deer each time. :) This is true nature immersion. We came after 6pm and only saw a couple of other people, so we mostly had the whole forest to ourselves. I recommend downloading the trail map for the first time you do it as it is too easy to get lost. The trail is not always marked and we would have never managed to stay on it without the map. The map was super accurate and the app even sent a push notification as soon as we went off trail, within 10 meters.

Great trail full of big trees that my sons loved climbing also plenty of picnic seats we had a great time there

This is a gorgeous walk, especially great for families. There are wild sections and paths, a kids playground and woodlands. Amazing in the spring time as there are lots of wildflowers.

Great for family, especially if unplanned as paths are all tarmaced, nice playground for children, and a coffee, ice-cream stall!

1) Don't be put off by the distance, there are many paths in the park and you could do 1km or 20km without much doubling back. We walked through the beech grove to the loop around Bonaveen point which was about 7km. 2) This is a perfect opportunity to stretch your legs on the road from Dublin to Galway. I highly recommend it. There is a field around the car park to play with the kids. Peaceful walks around the park are abundant as well if you need to get away. We saw 2 other parties over 2 hours of walking on a Sunday afternoon. 3) I would rate the walk easy. There is not much change in elevation and the paths are all paved with gravel or asphalt; there is little danger of losing your way. If you are looking for the authentic wilderness experience though, look elsewhere. 4) The toilets at the trail head needed some maintenance at the time I was there.

very nice peaceful walk.
