easy beautiful trail

It’s a nice walk but not a must see if time is a crunch. We did the trail in 30 minutes. Again a very nice walk in nature

Hiking to Mt. Gede is my first 'real' hiking experience. Hiked from Cibodas basecamp at 7am and camped at Kandang Batu at 12pm. We prefer Kandang Batu post due to easy access to water, less crowded, and flatter terrain. The trade-off is, you have to go earlier for summiting if you want to catch sunrise on the top. Started our summit attack at 3am, but reached the summit at 7am. However, it was a great experience!

Nice easy work, very accessible from Ubud township. Reasonably exposed so make sure you have sun protection and water with you.

This is a nice walk with some steeper bits but nothing hard. Though there were people on the trail it was a nice respite from the constant scooter cacophony of the town streets. The rice paddies in the upper portions were peaceful and beautiful. Had a fresh mango smoothie at one of the number of small places dotting the trail.

Easy walk. Doable in flip flops. Fairly busy as well. Some nice cafes/restaurants overlooking rice terraces at the end.

pas exceptionnel comme ballade mais jolies gallerie d'artiste.

Nice 5-6 hour trail suitable for anyone of moderate to high fitness and you don’t need a guide like pretty much everything else you’ll find advertised on the internet. First 5-6km is steep and you’re calves will feel it, mid section is relatively flat and then a 4-5km descent. Don’t bother with the lake, it’s yet another Bali tourist rip off, 50,000 each, the lake is nothing special and there’s nothing there bar a fairly generic temple and a swampy lake. There are 3-4 waterfalls on the last stretch, jumping in the pools at the bottom feels amazing once you’ve got over the cold. We also saw several puppies that loved to be played with, so bring snacks to give to them. There are also lots of dogs that will bark at you as you pass their properties, just walk past they don’t do anything and if they get too close pretend to pick up a rock and throw it and they’ll back off sharpish. Well worth the effort.

Beautiful❣️easy trail for dawn hikes from main road, local neighborhood galleries breakfast and gorgeous rice patties to follow.

Careful, the cement pathways can be really slippery.

Cute but very short

Very short walk, approx 30-45 mins depending on fitness level. Was nice to walk deep amongst the forest type area.

Path is mostly concrete, a mix of large/steep steps and some path for local homes. There's a small portion of dirt trail hiking. There is a lot of up/down involved so the vertical should not be dismissed. The waterfalls it brings you to are beautiful, a long with all the views on the way. Easily worth it!

if you are interested in mystical trail and you can get the permit, try mt Gede Rumpang Cliff trail. Get the experience stay one night at the edge area of the crater contiguous the climb trail to Kandang Badak. Via this trail you come to the volcano crater then you come to the trail to Mt Gede Summit if turn the left or if you go/climb straight you will come to Kandang Badak. In 1986 I had experience slept one night at that area (I got only one night stay permit from the Mt Gede Authority). Remember use good quality of ⛺ tent only. The view via Cibereum waterfall is better but the experience climb via Rumpang Cliff will give you unforgettable experience.
