Amazing trail that gives you a panoramic view of the great Himalayan range, rivers, walking through a dense forest, meadows, Flora, Fauna, and photography, and can be a perfect start for beginners and nature lovers.

My first legit trek, quite arduous but end is worth the hype, under the star lit sky and hot water spring.

Walked from Stok Village to the flags area. Good trail that gains elevation slowly. Did this with my 9 yr old daughters and they were able to handle it fine. Lots of cows, horses carrying loads for trekkers, and friendly dogs along the way.

This isn't a particularly stenurous hike, but is definitely very unsafe, dangerous and treacherous. The trail is not kept in a good condition, resulting in places where a slip of the foot will result in a drop into the ravine. There are spots where the trail has been washed out. Hikers don't tend to stick to the trail and take several shortcuts resulting in divergent trails that are more dangerous. There have even been numerous deaths in the last 2 months. Do not go here when it starts raining. The mud makes it even more dangerous. https://www.ndtv.com/cities/kheer-ganga-to-barshaini-trek-himachal-pradesh-woman-trekker-dies-after-being-hit-by-falling-rocks-2046627 https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/shimla/tourist-dies-while-trekking-in-kullu/articleshow/69016581.cms

The trail was a bit difficult to hike in the start but after you hike for a while, you will meet a lot of people who will inspire you to hike , as when i was there i saw little kids from abroad hiking with such a spirit and hiking back from the base camp is easy though if you take other way which you can learn from your guide which is a shortcut though. All the best and happy hiking

Moderately tough... but fun if weather is fine.

Amazing hike! Wouldn’t say it’s particularly easy, but not hard. Steady incline for about 5 hours. Climbed up to a rainbow gathering and stayed for a few days. The chai shops are wonderful and sitting in the hot springs under the stars is sooo worth it. Stunning place.

Did this hike in 2011. Wasn't that well known at that time so not overly crowded. This hike is a rewarding experience on its own. You will get to see the lush green Kullu valley as well as the moonscape of Spiti valley. Camping in Siah-Goru is a challenging experience but we enjoyed it every bit. I guess now when it is on hiking radar of everyone, you will find more people on the trail.

A wonderful Trek challenging you at all points and testing your endurance and preparedness. We experienced all weathers including hailstorms while on the trek. The view at Hampta Pass was amazing with the Indarsen and Deotibba peaks giving you a great experience...

Very nice workout! We did when it was raining and it was so much fun! But it too crowded on the top! The trail is beautiful, very comfortable, food and resting area throughout! BUT insensitive people walking with their speakers and playing EDM throughout the route! The trail is super but people are not! They will screw the fun! I won't do this again!

Just seeing Mount Shivling makes this hike worthwhile. We stayed in a tent camp about a 30 minute hike shy of Gaumukh which was very inexpensive and included basic meals. Wildlife was incredible. Had a touch of altitude sickness, so hiked back down to Gangotri the next day.
