Short hike along a beautiful creek to the base of a waterfall. Need to go through a horses field to get to the creek. Get to walk all the way around the waterfall which is amazing.

beautiful waterfall and super easy loop. very touristy, so best chances are probably going super early in the morning to avoid buses.

Nice little walk.
Like the waterfall at the end
Bring your cleats so you can go walk behind the fall during winter
We were able to pet the horses.

We had a little trouble finding the trail head, but just look for the little ladder over the fence and you’ll know you have the right spot.

Very easy. Expected more. Better hiking in Iceland than this one.

Cool to experience behind the waterfall views. Very easy hike.

Short hike to waterfall. Really pretty. Very crowded with tourists

Hidden gem. Still unkown and therefore no turist

Beautiful easy hike.

Beaucoup de monde

Incredible waterfall and such a cool experience to be able to walk behind it. After you leave continue down the path to the right (away from parking) to a small, even more impressive hidden waterfall! You have to walk through a small cave to get to it. It was my favorite waterfall in Iceland.

Easy to get to and beautiful waterfall.

Very fun experience to go behind this big waterfall. But even better... hike down the path to Gljufrafoss! You have to step on some stones over a small creek into a cave to get to these hidden falls but it’s worth it. Loved visiting both falls.

Busy but you can't help but be impressed. Don't just stick to the bottom: climb the steps to the top and continue going up the path to see more falls and terrific views. There were about 100 people at the bottom and along the top path we came across maybe a dozen people.

Get away from the chaos of Skogafoss and enjoy this waterfall all to yourself. The hike is short with a few small climbs and the waterfalls is a modest beauty. Ignore one of the reviews below: this trail is very much open. A really lovely short and rewarding hike

busy but worth it. do climb the stairs and walk through the gate and further along the views are lovely

Lovely easy hike and gets you away from the crowds. I recommend do this one. A short hike with a big reward

As others have mentioned, you must pay for parking and display the ticket in your window. After paying, there is a short walk for a good view of the falls The mist from the falls will get you wet, especially if you go behind the falls. I HIGHLY recommend taking the short walk to the other waterfall and a gorge. There is a high waterfall in the gorge but it was crowded. I recommend waiting and going into the Gljúfrabúi gorge. It takes about 15-20 seconds to get into the gorge; however, the stream will get your feet wet.

The coolest waterfall experience! Feels amazing to go behind this iconic waterfall.

Long stair climb to the top but beautiful views of neighboring farms and sheep on the way up. Iconic waterfall!

Gorgeous waterfall and worth your time while in Iceland! There is an option to walk up several steps to the top but the views from the bottom are much better! We scored a bonus with a very scenic rainbow and, at times, a double rainbow!

Insane waterfall!

A hidden gem of Iceland

A iconic place. But crowdy.

Very nice waterfall, but it is crowdy place.

Agree with Dana - the stairs were quite a workout, but a great way to start the morning.

The trail is closed now behind the newly built museum

very short hike but amazing waterfall!

There isn't a trail or waterfall I didn't enjoy in Iceland
