Short hike along a beautiful creek to the base of a waterfall. Need to go through a horses field to get to the creek. Get to walk all the way around the waterfall which is amazing.

This is an amazing glacier hike. Beautiful glacier features. Does require a guide if not experienced with glaciers. Crampons are also required for the hike. 20 min walk from parking lot to front of glacier as it carves the valley and empties into a lagoon. Glacier featured in Chasing Ice documentary.

This track was no less than awesome, yes really dificult too but every single second of the pain was beaten by the unique nature.

This was a wonderful hike in the snow. A little hard to navigate but we had a guide who knew helped us find our way. Beautiful views!

beautiful hike, my first glacier. we pretty much just followed the hikers with spikes that laid out a trail for us in just boots, but we got a good distance up before it was just dangerous to continue. breathtaking

another touristy spot, view from the bottom is better in my opinion. the steps up were a good little workout

beautiful waterfall and super easy loop. very touristy, so best chances are probably going super early in the morning to avoid buses.

Nice little walk.
Like the waterfall at the end
Bring your cleats so you can go walk behind the fall during winter
We were able to pet the horses.

Super difficult switchbacks all the way up on sand! Went on a foggy day and the higher you climb the rainier it gets, and no view- ended up turning around. Would definitely go back with more experience and on a better day

We had a little trouble finding the trail head, but just look for the little ladder over the fence and you’ll know you have the right spot.

It’s ok like some of the people said it’s more of a walk than hike. I walked more like speed walked cuz it was raining sideways and 20 mph rain made it un-enjoyable. I was soaked by the time I got back to my car.

Super pretty in the winter time had a lot of fun hiking it!

Awesome. Totally different from what you think. You get the sense you are in the middle of nowhere. May bother some people.

Very easy. Expected more. Better hiking in Iceland than this one.

the trail part of the hike was very easy. We went in October and saw some great rainbows on the walk back, but the real fun was going up on the glacier. we brought our own micro spikes and hiking poles and went without a guide. there's so much traffic on the glacier that it was easy to follow the paths of the tour groups without following behind them. crossing the medial moraine was a bit more complicated, had to go pretty far up, but definitely worth it (to us)

Cool to experience behind the waterfall views. Very easy hike.

Short hike to waterfall. Really pretty. Very crowded with tourists

Hidden gem. Still unkown and therefore no turist

Beautiful easy hike.

Facile. Terrain plat. Nous sommes allez pour le couché de soleil. Retour à la noirceur donc peu de touristes. Sentier bien délimité.

Beaucoup de monde

Magnifique.
Ramassez vos déchets en rentrant..

Incredible waterfall and such a cool experience to be able to walk behind it. After you leave continue down the path to the right (away from parking) to a small, even more impressive hidden waterfall! You have to walk through a small cave to get to it. It was my favorite waterfall in Iceland.

Easy to get to and beautiful waterfall.

Very fun experience to go behind this big waterfall. But even better... hike down the path to Gljufrafoss! You have to step on some stones over a small creek into a cave to get to these hidden falls but it’s worth it. Loved visiting both falls.

Did 13.0 of the 15.4 miles in a day hike. Almost finished it but the snow was very hard and windy and we needed to turn around to catch a flight back home. The hike had at least 30 waterfalls and was MY FAVORITE hike in Iceland. Such varied terrain and beautiful views of the mountains, mountain caps and of course the ocean south coast. Lovely hike. Recommend checking weather and going on semi clear day! 10/10 hike!

Busy but you can't help but be impressed. Don't just stick to the bottom: climb the steps to the top and continue going up the path to see more falls and terrific views. There were about 100 people at the bottom and along the top path we came across maybe a dozen people.

The walk is a little bit boring. The black sand beach is beautiful. The plane is nothing extraordinary.

So many waterfalls and changing landscapes. Made it to the second hut in roughly 4.5 hrs. Highly recommend, not a challenging hike but breathtaking!!!

Interesting wreck but sadly people are not respectful - clambering all over it, graffiti etc. It dims what should be an interesting object to view and photograph. As ever a minority ruin it for the majority. It is a heavily walked route so expect crowds
