Beautiful but easy to walk.

Short, easy hike that is absolutely stunning!

Nice (but very short) walk, with some gorgeous lichen and wildflowers. A great place to stop for lunch if you’re doing a day of hiking

Road 332 is impassable during winter. So sadly we couldn't reach Haifoss.

Lots of indicators to tell where to go. Many people on the trail so easy to follow footprints. Snow on the ground and can be slippery sometimes!

For an experienced hiker this is a piece of cake. The trail is more like a groomed walking path and the uphill battle is mild to moderate. It’s a quick hike all together and I felt silly bringing a back pack because of how well groomed and populated the trail was. Best waterfall I’ve seen though

Great trail even in the winter. Very exposed on top of this rock slab however so watch out for wind. The parking area is on the black sand down a a ways. The trail is marked by a sign. Along the way you follow small wooden posts which keep the trail reasonably marked. One of the best views I’ve had in Iceland so far

Went in the winter on a sunny day. Winds 5-7m/s. If you wear micro spikes it’s not a bad hike. Nicely marked trails if there is minimal snowfall. Can get super icy. It actually got kind of busy come noon time with many people looking to jump in the perfectly warmed water. It is very cold getting in and out, but they have changing barriers there.

I did his trail in 2016 and it really is incredible. The terrain is constantly changing and the scenery is unlike anything I've ever seen. There are definitely challenging spots, but as a whole I thought it was a very doable and very well marked as well. The second part Fimmvörðuháls was the more challenging part, but you will not be disappointed. We lucked out with the weather and only got trapped in rain a couple times. Definitely make sure you have a good rain jacket, good layers, and they are not lying when they say river crossing shoes!

Easy walk. Very beautiful ... beware of sneaker waves!

Easy walk to the falls, the climb to the top was a bit of a challenge, but manageable.

Some steep areas, but fairly easy climb for the fit. Beautiful views from top.

Very beautiful, very crowded!

Easy walk and crowded. Stunning view!

Awesome trail, beautiful landscape, easy passable even in winter, well marked.

This trail was absolutely outstanding. Not a simple walk, there's some steep climbs and steep descents. The Vikings buried one of their own up there and they don't mess around with whimpy switchbacks. But the views and the landscapes are unforgettable. If you go in the winter, simple crampons will do you well to grip the snow, ice, and mud. Also, low on tourists! It's lightly traveled, sometimes the only way to tell the trail is to look for the next marker 100m up. Highly recommend!
