Definitely worth taking the short ferry to see the island. I saw some seals sun bathing on the coast and the walk is very accessible.

A beautiful trail to the first swimming pool in Iceland. Definitely worth the hike if not only for the view. I would say it’s accessible for most skill levels, but not necessarily depending on sure footedness.

It’s literally an 8km round trip trail to the plane wreckage. It’s flat and easy, if not a bit long. Worth doing if you really want to see the wreckage, but there is a shuttle service (it’s expensive).

Unrivalled views, endless waterfalls walking along a canyon for several miles. Very little traffic as well! Such a beautiful hike

the first waterfall was beautiful but it was worth it in the end for Bruarfoss. the day I went wasn't so muddy and I wore brand new white doc martens and got out of it with pretty much with no dirt on them (forgot to bring my hiking shoes, rookie mistake)

Elevation is highly incorrect. I got less than 200 feet total so more like a walk for sure. First of the falls is best IMO. Nice

Beautiful, worth it, but NOT easy. A short trail but very narrow, slick, rocky, etc. Extremely windy when I went and was treacherous for any inexperienced hiker.

Easy trail up a crater rim. Cool views from the top. A lot of wind. Not a difficult hike but a nice stretch of the legs to knock out in 90 minutes

Didn’t make the top— made it past the first ropes and then a little further. Minor panic attack given how steep the drop is. That’s unusual for me, but this is a bada$$ hike. Worth attempting. My husband made it to the top! I was worried about coming down but it was easier than the up. We were lucky with sunny weather although a lot of wind. I wouldn’t try it if raining. The wind was a factor.

Go later in the day or early in the morning for more a secluded experience.

Fun place to explore

The point is to walk to the top and then walk along the river. There are many more waterfalls, rocks strewn across it and beautiful dramatic landscape. Didn’t walk to the end of the walk unfortunately - did one hour one way, incl the stairs. Regret not going all the way!

This trail was beautiful! It took a little over an hour for us to complete. It was cold and icy, but the ice was minor. Beautiful landscapes, don’t forget to look behind you once in a while! We went during sunset which I definitely recommend doing.

Gorgeous waterfalls along a rocky, sometimes muddy, trail. Moderate traffic but not overwhelming.

Easy and beautiful

Awesome trail. Not easy uphills but worth the views. 11 on a 10 scale.

Not much of a hike, but breathtaking views of the foss. All boardwalk or blacktop.

Absolutely breathtaking view from above and a fairly steep descent to the river below. At some places barely wide enough for your feet and some real ankle-turners or worse if you make a wrong step. But the view is incredible, not to be missed!!
