A wonderful trail that takes you to the summit of Tai Mo Shan. Tai Mo Shan is the highest peak in Hong Kong and makes this trail a High traffic area. Locals are friendly and most speak a little bit of English. I would rate this trail easy and achievable by beginners as long as they set a pace and don't turn back. The views are wonderful and inspirational! This trail will be unforgettable! Enjoy!

Wow this is 1 in a million hike. Not hard, very very hard and will test you with all the stairs but worth it on a clear day & I would do it again once I regain my strength. Amazing HK!

If you start from Kadoorie Farm it feels like never ending stairs. The views are quite lovely along the ridge but eventually the numerous peaks and valleys become annoying and you just want it to end.

Really great view of the HK skyline. You can walk up and explore outside of the Peak structure on to the mountain, or you can straight up to the Sky Terrace for the view.

Great walk on quiet paths, would be slippery if raining. Great views. On arriving at the end ( Clearwater bay and golf course ) there’s a sweet little fishing village where we ventured for some food, Would not recommend! Rather inedible chicken dish and a soup of dishwater ( and 400$ too boot for 3 of us with no alcohol!) ! As I’ve found in Hong Kong food is an adventure and a bit hit and miss!
Head back to the city for good food.

One of the very best hikes in Hong Kong. A solid 4 hours and quite a climb, but the trail. the scenery and the views are exceptional.

Moderate hike with beautiful views.

Cute little hike that leads to a beach, good surrounding, well designed and not dangerous

Beautiful hike, but challenging in the June heat!

Amazing trail! Incredible views! Great little villages between the first climb and the second climb (especially Pak Mong village, where you can get a cold drink from the little cafe, which someone will be able to point you to). This trail is of ADVANCED DIFFICULTY!! Do not attempt this trail alone or in the summer heat. Bring a lot more water than you think you’ll need. You will drink it all.

Beautiful hike along the ocean. Go to Lamma Grill for the best ribs you’ll ever have! And if you want a less crowded beach with great swimming stop at Lo So Shing beach instead of the main beach along the trail (about 45 min walk from the main ferry terminal / Lamma Grill)

Easy hike with beautiful views!

4.8 moderate paved trail up to Victoria Peak. Spectacular views of Hong Kong.

Amazing and good view

11/2/2017 (Wednesday) -- What a lovely morning on the Peak to enjoy the view of the harbor and mountains on the other side of Kowloon. Then, I walked down to the reservoir, took a bus to tour the campus of HKU.

Should note, the main map of this hike is from the cable car dropoff, not the full hike, which looks quite challenging. They said the last cable car is at 6, at least today, which is a regular week day, so plan accordingly. The cable car is not cheap either, $210 hkd round-trip for the standard. There’s apparently a hefty discount if you book online with koon or kool or something, so I wish I had known that.

Buddha is amazing and well worth the hike or the cable car, whichever you choose, as is the monastery. The area around it is a tourist trap though so if you’re on a budget, plan to bring a snack or something.

A little to much pavement for me but great trail.

I've done this trail numerous times, including with my 88-year-old father. The trail is never strenuous. but it gives a very different picture of Hong Kong than you get on other trails and other islands. There is an amazing tiny Thai satay stand near Yung Shue Wan, where you can also sit down for other Thai dishes. It's the best replica of the atmosphere in Thailand for such places that I've found outside of Thailand and the food is great. At the south end, if you want to keep going, there is a trail that loops around the eastern of the two peaks, to some lovely beaches on the south side of the island; there is also a trail that goes up and over the eastern peak if you want to get a great view over the Lamma Channel and the South China Sea.

Welcome to Hong Kong- great atmosphere in the city as well as out. If you're coming from the monastery be prepared for a climb. It's worth it but there's some big elevation to climb in a short period so take breaks if you need. I saw only one person coming the way we came, Everyone else was coming from the other direction. The trail head is a ways back behind the monastery, you'll pass old an housing quarters/boarding home and what looks like an old restaurant. The initial climb is the hardest , mostly boulder size steps until you get to a clearing at the top with some large rocks to climb on for decent views. Some advice: it was mostly out in the open so if its hot, be prepared. The second stint is another short scramble to the top where you'll find a small shelter and 12-20 folks with selfie sticks. There are also large rocks to climb out on to get a better view. We hiked through to the other end and caught a bus back to HK.

Finding the trail was a little tricky but after the trailhead, signage is descent. The first 2 miles is all uphill and quite the climb. But the view is definitely worth it! The rest of the trail has mild slopes and well kept pavement. I went on a Wednesday morning and only saw a handful of people. Instead of going back the way I came, there is a bus stop at the end of the trail to get you back towards Hong Kong.

Nice trail! Not only hiking on the mountain, but also going to a wonderful beach!

Paved trail and roadside walking. We walked down from the tram station. you go through some very lush forested areas. The trail was very slick in spots. Not too many view locstions.

Fully paved trail, well marked, nice beaches and scenic views. But lacking the sense of adventure of an unpaved trail.

Did it today despite the bad weather. The trails are most of the time well built out/paved and can be as well run. There is only moderate elevation and only the first 1-2 km are a bit steeper. Very much enjoyed the trail and will do it again or a variation of it.
