Incredible views of beaches, Tai Tam Bay, and the ridge. Extremely close to the MTR, only a half hour walk uphill. Steep hills along the water are an incredibly dramatic site. However, the Saturday morning crowd made the physical activity a bit stressful due to poor trail etiquette: folks were walking while on their phones with their heads down, some stopped right in the middle of the trail for their snack or lunch, numerous people were playing loud music from pocket speakers..

A difficult trail to be sure — a bit easier if you start from Parkview rather than the road above Stanley — but well worth it for the views.

Trail is good for a casual hike with a few amazing views of some villages and some islands/hills.

Based on the GPS it isn’t a 8/9 km hike from the starting point but a 4-5 km ish trail if you follow the path.

The last bit of the trail is quite mossy, which makes it really slippery. Definitely recommend for a breathtaking view of the Shek O beach.

It was a paved road with cars coming through almost all the way down.
Nice views but not very relaxing due to the amount of rubbishy everywhere.
Nice spot at the end but not worth the time.

Forget legs at the gym, just do this hike for a workout. Constant stairs - up or down - with amazing views across HK. Rated difficult because of that incline. There is no scrambling required, and generally it's a super clean and well-looked after trail.

Nice hike with undulating hills. Great vistas for majority of the hike. Very easy to catch the #9 bus (and you can use your octopus card). Don't do this is the rain - we did it on a dry day after a sprinkle and it quickly became slippery.

A trail that requires a steady pace and has nice panoramic views.

Excellent views of both sides of the island. There are quite a few steps, particularly at least he start and end, but generally easy to moderate walking and very well marked. Big Wave Bay is an interesting finishing point

Great trail for a weekday afternoon; but crazy busy at the weekend.

Wow this is 1 in a million hike. Not hard, very very hard and will test you with all the stairs but worth it on a clear day & I would do it again once I regain my strength. Amazing HK!

Nice walk with great views. Went on a Saturday and was quite busy. Would recommend the high junk peak track over this one for views and lack of people.

amazing trek. fabulous views all along the way

Breath taking views. Great hike, not a hard trail.

Amazing views-great trail. A must when in Hong Kong!

good hike with awesome views of shek-o and big wave bays. Avoid Sunday if you don't like crowds.

トレイルの整備も良い。バス停も近く、バスの便数も多いので便利。なんといっても景色を楽しみながら走れるのが良い。

Great views and a perfect introduction to HK if you just got here or are visiting. You can keep going to big wave bay for a dip after the hike. However, if you are looking for a challenge, that is definitely not be the right hike.

Great hike, good views, bring a swim suit. A dip in the bay is an amazing way to cool off after the hike. There is a designated changing area. If not in a hurry to get to Big Wave Bay I would suggest not taking the first path to the beach. Instead of taking the first path to the “right” continue on and in another 10 mins or so is another path that will take you to the beach. More great views and it leads to 3000 year old (allegedly) rock carvings.

Fabulous views ending on lovely beach

The trail is amazing and provides beautiful views over the open sea to the east and island views to the west. At the end of the trail, walk down to and visit the village of Shek-O and have a meal at the restaurant close to the beach. The trail is not strenuous and can easily be completed with normal fitness in a couple of hours.

Métro from Hong Kong, with small bus ride. Well worth it, bring water lots of sun exposure. Nice views. From the end, go down to the beach and grab the bus back. Nice one day activity out of the city and the chaos of Hong Kong.

Excellent - went off the path (dotted line midway) and encountered some steep terrain. Be sure to look over the trails beforehand if going off the busy one.
