This out-and-back 5.5km hike is moderate. Located in Pico Bonito Park, the trail begins at the Pico Bonito Lodge. Multiple bird watching hot spots and beautiful waterfalls with cool, fresh water to swim in after sweating in the rain forest.

Entrance at El Rosario near the mining town of San Juancito, this trail runs about 2.5 hours out and back, connecting at the end with La Cascada Trail. Less frequented than the principal trail, Sendero La Mina offers different view of the park and runs by several abandoned mines. El Rosario is itself a former mining town itself that has a ghost town vibe to it, interesting to explore after your hike.
