Out-and-back 3.5 km trail, relatively well-marked, overgrown in its own beautiful way. GPS recording bit off but route is clear enough. Trail runs along a creek and ends at large waterfall. Lots of great trees, plants and birds to see.

This out-and-back 5.5km hike is moderate. Located in Pico Bonito Park, the trail begins at the Pico Bonito Lodge. Multiple bird watching hot spots and beautiful waterfalls with cool, fresh water to swim in after sweating in the rain forest.

Trail head is on RN25 past Valle de Angeles on the edge of La Tigra Park. Well marked trail that runs through old silver mining area. Easy hike that is good for birdwatchers.

Located beyond Güinope, Cascada La Fortuna is a 6.9km out and back trail up to a waterfall. Trails are well-marked with ribbons. The trail diverges to a lower and upper falls - the upper fall trail is steep. There are two bird watching hotspots- one on the road near the entrance and the other half way down the descent when vegetation shifts from dry wood pine to more tropical and lush. For a local guide contact EcoturismoGuinope (contact is on Facebook).

100% would recommend this hike. It was raining very hard right after we started but once we got to the falls it was blue skies and gorgeous.

A lovely loop trail starting and ending at Turtle Bay Eco Resort. You start by going up to the islands Lighthouse (which you can climb up for an amazing view) and then after turning back a little ways veer off towards the Garifuna fishing village of East end. From there you can walk around the coastal path that circles the island. There are a few places where you will be scrambling up some steep rocks, so no flip flops. Also make sure to bring your bathing suit since the beaches along the path are really spectacular.
