Beautiful hike with beautiful scenery. Recommend the in and out from the top for a good workout. Went down after sunrise and did a 12 mile loop around a central crater to Kapalaoa cabin. Nice to stop there for lunch and then back to top. Can see some wildlife around the cabin. Beautiful scenery!

After watching the sun rise we hiked down at 6:30am. We did a 6 hour loops down to the bottom, around to the cabin and back up. Stopped at the cabin and had lunch. Beautiful and long but worth it. Spectacular views at every turn.

This is more of a walking path than a hike, but it's still a nice way to put some miles on your shoes. We parked in the BX/Commissary parking lot and made good time through the beautiful neighborhoods on Hickam. The path then turns and goes along the entrance channel for Pearl Harbor before curving around by the airfield. There's little shade along the way and the more urban surroundings can be a bit hotter. Brace yourself for low flying aircraft (not too loud) and more road traffic than we expected. Certainly a good hike, but the path would make for an even better run.

This is a road route that can be driven. With that being said I love to walk and enjoyed it very much! Water, sunscreen and a cooling towel did the trick.

Drive along North shore. Nice sightseeing

Great hike. Do the full loop and go all the up to the summit to finish the hike. Then hitchhike down to your car. Great chance to see the MOST diverse terrain you’ll see on a hike - ever.

Go in the morning. Very little shade and miserable hot if you go mid day. View is amazing and it’s even more amazing to look at diamond head from afar and think you hiked it lol. Worth it

Takes about 1.5 hours to get to the end of the sliding sands trail and about 4 to get back, using the loop, going counter-clockwise (Took periodic breaks). I encountered 2 people the entire time I was at the bottom of the crater, so that was kinda nice considering how many people were at the beginning of the trail. Bring tons water, sunscreen, and extra clothes in case the unpredictable weather decides to greet you.

All the reviews seem to be about the Diamond Head Trail, not the All Trails trail for this hike, which is a flat walk AROUND the crater on the outside. The hike was more of a hitch-hike than an actual hike, you are on the side of the road pretty much the whole time. You get close to the lighthouse which is cool, but I’d recommend just driving around rather than “hiking” it. It was also super hot after about 5 minutes. I wouldn’t do this hike again.

Well paved, easy to walk with a stroller! It’s a favorite amongst mom groups who want an easy walk and beautiful views. Highly recommend sunset time!

Easy 3.6 mile trail; run, walk, bike, blade, etc. Most of the trail has a sidewalk/path; however, areas on the backside of the airfield (west side/mountain side) have no walkway/trail. Signs say stick to the side of the road.

Great views of the mountains to the West, lots of birds, no shade, almost completely flat. Recommend to use for running or with children on bikes or in stroller instead of "hiking". Lots of parking at Kaha Park.

A nice way to spend an hour or two logging some steps :-)

This isn’t really a hike — more of a greenway walking path. However, when you look past the concrete and gravel, there are some amazing views to the west. I’m happy they have preserved this wetland area. (My dog is too.)

Peak days mean, peak traffic. Less on the southern side.

Beautiful views all along the trail. Gorgeous. Really strenuous. We hiked it doing the loop part counter-clockwise, and I think it’s the best way to do it, thinking about the views you get :)

Be prepared for lots of stop-and-go traffic as you pass tourists scampering across the road at Laniakea, Pipeline and Sunset Beach.

Amazing trail with great views. It’s quite a hike and would highly suggest bringing rain gear, lots of sun screen, and water. It took us a bit over 6 hours to do this with minimal stops.

Good walking path with great views of mountains.

Great views! Clocked in at 47 min.

Easy Beautiful To many people it make it hard to stay in the top

Scenic path along the waterway and historic houses. Bike out while the sun is out, stop to water the sunset, beautiful bike back after dark.
