This trail is awesome and would recommend to anyone. My and my family to include a 4 year old did it in 2:30 minutes and we had a great time.

A pleasant hike, a bit of mud in a couple of places, no waterfall but we did see where the waterfall would be in the right conditions. Definitely park at the beach, it took us (with 3 fit, active teenagers) approximately 1.5 hours from the beach car park including a couple of stops. Didn’t see anyone else on the track, would recommend going early in the day.

Lots of people but the climb is well worth the view!

Challenging and a little scary at times, but so worth it. I would recommend going as early as possible to avoid being in the hot sun too much.

Awesome trail. Try to beat the rain.. make sure you park somewhere else. Our car got towed

Always a great hike! View makes it all worth it!

awesome pic photo hike! Enjoy!

Awesome kayak-hike, it's called China mans hat! not the mokes! as in description. Not for people that haven't kayaked before, kinda hard and a touch of danger. The hike on the Island is extreme if you climb up to the summit! hike around back is great, cool cave in the water. Not recommended for young children.

Long up hill hike, park on street, be quiet and leave NO trash! Awesome water falls, simply beautiful! Well worth the hike.

They call it the stair steeper! I wonder why, He He. It's a work out but well worth it, super great hike. Be very quiet and respect the neighborhood, leave no trash. Third pill box for experts only!

Nice day break hike, leave early, awesome! kid friendly, great start to the day!

So many trails connect to each other around this area. Personally I hate having to walk on paved roads for lengthy portions of trails. It’s best to take a different route than this loop to get back to the start. All in all though it is friendly for all ages and four legged friends.

The beginning of the trail is hot, dry and flat. Bring water. It was cool to see the tide pools and go on the rocks. If you wade through the knee deep water for a few minutes you can go to a small island and relax there. Overall, quick easy walking path with some beautiful bay and beach views. It looked like a scene out of the Last Song. Very private with only one or two other people seen

This trail is hard but doable. Amazing views

The tramline is a challenge but so worth the views!! I’d recommend a hydration pack and sunblock. Highly recommended trail!

A fun hike up. Unfortunately the summit was clouded in. The path was pretty muddy and it made the way down from K2 messy and challenging.

Best views on Oahu. In March - we could see whales from this trail. Amazing.

It was a nice hike but got really steep at the top, so much so that my in-laws turned back. There’s an awesome bamboo forest at the top, which gives you lots to grab on to at the hardest point. Really pretty hiking through the trees. Enjoyed it a lot and it didn’t take too long.

Great hike for dogs to get outta the heat and play in some streams. Expect to get wet.

very beautiful! easy to follow trail through many different types of forest. glad for the shade after too much sun hiking previously...the stairs at top killer, but took ten at a time and made it to the top where gorgeous view and cool breeze awaited. so worth it!

I recommend this trail for anyone looking for a great hike with no crowds. It is easy to follow, very clear at the moment, and aside from being long not too hard. The first mile is up a paved road, the next two miles are a gradual incline with a few ups and downs and the last mile is where it gets steeper but nothing too challenging. From the top you can go over to stairway or head right towards bowman. All in all, great trail.

If you’re looking for a short, fairly easy hike and you want a awesome view then this is the trail for you! There are several trails that intersect inside so you have to be careful not to get lost. Beautiful view of Waikiki and diamond head. We did this with littles and they had no issues.

HARD but worth it. Don't go unless you are in decent shape. Bring lots of water as there isn't any at the top.

Excellent trail for anyone who is in decent shape (great for families with kids). Most of the trail is wide and well maintained. The last few tenths of a mile were narrow and muddy. Plenty of shade, so even in the middle of the day it’s plenty cool. Great views of the Halawa Valley (and the H3) from the Ko’olau Range all the way down to Pearl Harbor.

Be sure to look for the wreckage of a crashed B-24J WWII bomber that hit the mountain back in 1944 (there’s a placard at the trailhead with a brief history and the crew’s names). There’s not much left other than a large hunk of metal sitting partway down the slope at about the halfway point in the trail as it has succumbed to the elements after 75 years.

Nothing too technical. Trail is well marked and cleared

Amazing trail! Be prepared to get a little muddy and bring your water:-)

The trail to the summit can be accessed via a number of trails in the Na Ala Hele system https://hawaiitrails.hawaii.gov/trails/#/
I started on Round Top Drive where there is good parking. There are 2 trailheads there. N 21 19.546 W 157 48.787

I took Manoa Cliff Trail connected with Pauoa Flats Trail and took it to the end which is a cliff. The Konahuanui trail heads up to the right from there.

I did not reach the top as the peak was in the clouds and the wind and rain were an issue when the trail rounded to face windward.
There are 2 "tracks" on the All Trails map, and indeed I found a trail that went around the mountain (often pretty sidehill vertical and muddy) AND another going steeply up to meet and follow the ridge line in more usual Hawaii trail fashion.
The fork is at N 21 20.700 W 157 48.2923 and is perhaps 1.25 miles from the peak per All Trails.

The beginning of the hike is forest, rain forest, and bamboo in the valley. After 2 miles you are in the brush and trees on mountain.
My trek was 6.2 miles including the backtracking to explore both forks. I'll stay right for the ridge peak trail next time and I'm sure I'll comeback muddy and happy again. Spikes and long pants were very helpful for me, but I crossed paths with a barefooted hiker up on the side slope.
