Got lucky with parking, carried my 30lb 2-yr old in a Thule Sapling Elite and it was a great workout! Awesome few and a perfect day

Very beautiful views, some muddy spots but a lot of shade.

Super touristy. Literally hike up in a line, come down in a line. Nice view but those are everywhere in Hawaii.

I’m a moderate hiker and fairly out of shape. I took several breaks and it took me about 40 minutes to get to the top and I just barely made Sunrise. We arrived at 5:30 And parked in the neighborhood across the entrance and had to use flashlights until we were at least half way up. I did fine with a bottle of water because we went so early but on the way down around 7am it was starting to get really hot.

Beautiful trail! Slippery, wear good trail shoes! We did not have enough water or light remaining in the day to make it to the falls but we made it to the beach. Everyone who we encountered who made it to the falls said it was amazing but more difficult than they expected. I was attacked by mosquitos and constantly putting more bug spray on as I think I was sweating it off. Bring lots of water.

Great hike. Have done it 10 times. Sometimes it's very muddy. 1000' elevation from highest to lowest points, just right for me. Good exercise with lots of shade and some views. Plenty of parking. Lots of people run this route.

Nice and cool up high with shade. Still hot and humid overall. Bring water filter. Used running shoes but trail shoes and poles would have been better.

Sweet views

This trail becomes really steep around .2 miles (but it’s totally worth it)! There are a series of 5 bluff views starting around .4 miles that are jaw dropping! To find them, make sure to take the spur trails to the left of the main path. These views look over the cliffs that mark the eastern edge of Judd Memorial and offer a unique vantage point of the Pali. Note: The AllTrails track stops at .45 miles (to the midway point) on this out-and-back trail, but don’t stop there. Keep going for more views! Eventually you will reach an intersection with Nu’uanu Trail. The totally distance with this extended track is 2.2 miles.

Amazing hike, very challenging if you're not an avid hiker. I had micro spikes on for the mud and they were a life saver. Make sure to bring plenty of water, the way up is a steep climb and you lose a lot of moisture. Like previous reviews a tree fell a while into the trail so make sure to use your all trails GPS. It took me an hour and 45 min to get to the second peak and then about an hour down. I didn’t go on because of time constraints but it’s a super awesome hike!

Beautiful drive. Be careful of drivers who do not respect the one lane/narrow areas of the road where you must take turns. Hamoa Beach is a gorgeous place to swim and relax

Insanely beautiful! Buggy and humid. Definitely bring more water than you think. It’s a hell of a hike but so so worth it!

We went after it had heavily rained in the area so it was extremely muddy and wet. We had hiking shoes and gloves but saw a few people with only tennis shoes and they seemed fine. It’s a steep climb down but plenty of tree branches and roots to help. Definitely doable and there are some areas with ropes to assist. The waterfall was flowing pretty hard due to the recent rain. We brought bug spray but it was a faulty can (should have checked ahead of time). We left with about 10 bites each, I guess we had to pay our dues somehow. Please go prepared. Water shoes were useful also.
