Incredible hike August 20-30. We took 10 days to complete the trail from Kanger to sisimite and every day was even better then the last. Had muddy wet shoes for most of the hike but it's all part of the fun. Tons of wild berries to munch on the whole way as well as wild mushrooms! it definitely got cold and frosty a couple of nights so bring layers or at least a 0 degree bag. Bugs were not bad at all. We only carried 1L of water because there is an abundance of fresh water lakes and streams everywhere and no need to filter it. it's mostly glacier melt.

Absolutely loved this hike. Went opposite direction to most - from West to East. Stunning landscapes, absolute quiet (when no wind and not near a running river/brook), and NOT ONE MOSQUITO!!! Rained a couple of days but with the right gear all is fine. Also got below zero C one or two nights - again not an issue if you prepared. Lots of Reindeer, Arctic Char seemed to fill one river I passed, and stayed at the crazy 'Out of the Wild' camper/hut on last day. Already thinking of doing it again (maybe other direction this time). More detailed report on reddit here: http://bit.ly/2L2qLCx

A great hike, despite the toilet paper littering the entire trail. Put it in a plastic bag and take it out with you, people. I highly recommend waterproof socks and quick drying shoes. Every day was spent wading through mud and swamp and I was the only one not complaining because of the waterproof socks. The huts are evenly spaced to do the hike in 8 days, stopping at the huts every day. Don't overpack, take 9 days of food, and don't forget you have to fly back...so pack accordingly.

Ice, whales and panorama. This trail has it all. Very well marked. You need not go out and back. You can start at the old heliport and end at the powerplant or opposite.

This is a gorgeous hike that includes a small summit, a unique view of the nearby icefjord, small glaciers, and even a chance to see some whales in the bay. From point to point this could take about 30 to 45 minutes, but you will want to allow around 1.5 to 2 hours to enjoy the views. Not really difficult, but the trail can be a little challenging to follow. Some rocky areas and slippery when wet. This is one of the most beautiful short hikes I have ever taken.

The trail is officially called Arctic Circle Trail
