Mystras, the 'wonder of the Morea', was built as an amphitheatre around the fortress erected in 1249 by the prince of Achaia, William of Villehardouin. Reconquered by the Byzantines, then occupied by the Turks and the Venetians, the city was abandoned in 1832, leaving only the breathtaking medieval ruins, standing in a beautiful landscape.Show more

The route starts from the guesthouse of EOF in the village of Kefalari of Korinthia. There are no signs at the beginning of this route. So, make sure to follow the gps indications. Soon after, you will find ribbons in the trees, which will lead you to the dirt road that connects Kefalari with Manna. On our left you will see a meadow that shows the direction to follow. Take the right to the bank of a ravine and enter a dense forest of fir and cedar trees. Follow the markings (ribbons on the trees) until you get out of the labyrinth. Go to Salamis and Moutsios well. Above the well, runs the path to the high peaks of Mikri Ziria. Following the markings (red markers) on the trees, you will cross the fir forest. As you gain height, the slope increases until you reach a small barrier (1650m). From here you will have views of Mikri Ziria's peaks. Move to the left side of the deep gorge that descends from the Dusia-Snow bay. Get to the bar (2000m). Then go left (heading south-southeast) and soon you will climb to the top of Dusia (2086m). Then back downhill from here. Note: The route from the bay (1650 m) to the top is in a snowy field. Frequently on the traverse this snow is frozen and it is necessary to use crampons and poles.Show more
