A very beautiful trail, deep into the heart of the forest. One thing to keep in mind is that the last 1 km before you get out of the forest is a really hard terrain. It might be rather difficult for many people, but it is doable non the less.

This trail's route is for joggers. For bikers, you should follow the opposite direction.

Really nice trail, with some of the best views in the area (maybe even better than Ali Pacha Caslte). The quickest way is about 5 km, and it took us unexperienced hikers about 2 hours, including a stop at the chapel. Starts on a rough, steep and narrow, overgrown path, but push through, it gets easier soon enough. In the final bit near Lichnos, the closed gate at waypoint 9 says no trespassing. The gate was not locked, so we went anyway, but might be good to know.

We were lucky to take this hike in the August evening, and see the most magnificent sunset. Took us 1 h 30 min (including stops for photos). We started around 5:30 or so as in August can be scorching hot (eve is 26-27 C). We walked the trail anti-clockwise (the right way!). Thus we saw the flag, the cliffs (the best view) in the first 3rd. The trail itself is rough - huge stones, bad path. You need proper shoes. Plus going anti-clockwise you are going up, which is much easier and safer, considering you have to look under your feet all the time. The path takes you through the village, cliffs, forest. At the end you hit the most magnificent sunset if you get your timing right. Do it. This hike gives you a different glimpse in Zakinthos.

We did the hike last week and it was beautiful, the only thing that made it not so perfect was the flies that swarmed us all the time, no bug spray helped. I think because of Covid not a lot of people used it, the trail was overgrown in some places, but the signs were very good. Overall it was a good experience.

A quiet and quaint walk through a very peaceful part of the island. It has fantastic views combined with a real sense of being surrounded by nature. Do not forget to take a camera and look out for the amazing view of Mizithres. Happy hiking.

A nice round trip through the landscapes of the region, starting from the road down the Tunnel Museum of Leros and all around the Patela mountain and back through the forest to the Tunnel Museum.

A long but very interesting walk from the port of Aghia Marina in Leros, through the villages of Aghia Marina, and Platanos, the capital, all the way to the Monastery of Leros, in a beautiful location within the original landscapes of Leros

A nice walk and once up on the mountains, a beautiful view on Leros and Kalymnos, amazing Italian buildings from WWII and a site where the writer of the Canons of Navarone was inspired.

A very nice trail in the pine tree forest, can be done hiking or mountain biking. At the end if you follow the unpaved road you arrive at the Tunnel museum.

A nice moderate circular trail. Starting in Vlachokerasia village. About 1.5 hours passing through beautiful mountainous Pine trees forest. About 2.5 hours walking down a local river, about 1 hour going up back to the outscart of the village and another half an hour to the village's center. We had to tackle to chalenges: 1. Clouds of gnats (little mosquitoes) in several locations along the river. 2. Wild pack of dogs - this was a serious challenge they tried to attack us (we where 3 they where 8 medium sized dogs), but we managed to frithened them.

That trail was certainly suggested by a jogger. One treks a very wide road in what appears to be an estate development that was put to a halt. Forget about that trail. From the starting point on the west side, there is a real trail in a pinewood sometimes following a river that has nothing to do with the current proposed trail.

I would recommend this trail for sure. The mountain does look a bit intimidating when you walk towards it from the refugee. The first meters consisted of small rubble and requires your attention all the time not to slip. There were three points where we thought to retreat since the descent might be too slippery going back. Yet... We pushed through to the top. No equipment needed just some light easy climbing here and there. They payoff was great, we enjoyed the view a lot and the feeling of accomplishment. One thing we realized on the descent is that..”if you can go up, you can go down again.” The descent was doable, and almost meditative, as the only thing you were paying attention to is the next sturdy rock to step on. It helped a lot that we had some sticks from the forest. So we were using them as extended limbs. Took us about 2 hrs to go up and 1 hr to go down. We did it together with the Steni forest which was total 7 hours.
