Having this map downloaded saved me on day three of my hike. I was going over Col de la Seigne alone and in very bad weather. It was the beginning of June so the trail at that altitude was still completely obscured by snow. It was pouring rain and there were heavy clouds so visibility was only a few meters. I would pull out my phone and check my location in relation to the trail every five minutes. I safely made it to Refuge Elisabetta and was so grateful for this map!!

If I wasn’t so darn old (71) my knee might not have blown out on the first day. It was gruelling we hiked 2000 meters up hill. Definitely take the gondola to the top and start from there. Took 4 hours out of a 16 hour day hike. It is a beautiful hike so don’t be discouraged by my comments. If your young and “FIT” do it.

Amazing!

the best I ever walked

This is a relatively easy hike on mostly good trails. It's 5.6 miles (9 km) out and back including the ascent to the fort. The views are spectacular. The climb to the Genovese fort is steep but the path is good, and many people of all ages take it successfully. The loop shown on the All Trails map is no longer available. The trail I followed is the only one.

I hiked this trail in 4 days in 2014. I would like to go back and spend more time

A great hike after one night under the tent at the border of Pyrénées National Park.
A must-do although the top can be crowdy

Absolutely loved doing this hike. The trails are incredibly well marked. If not in shape like I was, it’s tough, but doable. Did the 11 days hike, about 10 miles a day. Did a mix of camping and refuges for overnights.

Excellent trail, covers a lot of varied scenery and gives a great sense of the TMB contained within a single day. Beautiful views at the two lakes make the effort to reach there worthwhile but the two refuges the trail passes and the chance to stop for a drink high in the Alps really adds to an already excellent day.

Once in a lifetime experience!

trail running

6 Days trail running with a great deal of training up front and overnights at hotels with luggage transport between (there are services for this). Pretty much one of the most glorious experiences ever - landscape changes every day and you get sheep, cows, rock goats, marmots, glaciers, rock scrambles, winding paths with fantastic resources along the way: water stops and rest stops with bathrooms and meals to buy.

I went this trail w two girls who hasn't done much hiking, and I suggested this one was rated as easy. Turned out to be reaching the head of Lion wasn't that easy for them and they found it quite challenging. Track isn't very clear to climbing rocks but you will not lose baring as where you are headed and which direction you are suited to go is very visible. There are also few other hikers and we all had multiple cuts from bushes Good walking shoes could help. Breathtaking views and good photo spots.

Muy variado. Excelentes paisajes. Bastante esforzado. Recomiendo 100%.

Very interesting part of the shoreline on the Côte d'Azur.

Absolutely one of the best treks I've ever done! We camped so carrying all of our stuff made it more of an adventure and much cheaper! Camp sites were great and the scenery is the best you can get.

Best backpacking trip of my life so far! 9 days mostly tent camping. Almost after there was an incredible view from a high up pass that we worked hard to reach. Challenging but so worth it!

Fantastic views! We left at about 8 PM and were at the top at 9:30. We had scenic views of the city the whole way up, and were surprised by the historical preservation. Yes, a lot of stairs, but absolutely worth the climb. It is also possible to take the gondola up to the top for fairly cheap (6 euros for students) but I would suggest climbing up if you have the chance.

Takes time to enjoy it.

Beautiful hike. Easy but bring a hat and a lot of water!

Beautiful trail, romantic, not crowded, not difficult, but never boring. Relais des Merveilles was rustic, very quiet, great location. There are nice places to camp as well. Great experience.

For those who want to enjoy beach, mountains views and visit the Citadelle... that s the perfect view. Don't miss the view of the bay from the Citadelle !

Absolutely one of the best hikes in the world. I've hiked/backpacked in Costa Rica, Kenya, Tanzania, Croatia, Nepal, Japan, Peru, Hawaii, and throughout Colorado. I would hike the TMB again any year.

My wife and I took 8 days to complete the tour, staying in refuges along the way. It was every bit as beautiful, poetic, peaceful, and exhilarating as we had hoped for. There are plenty of in depth descriptions online. You can hike with as much or as little support as you like. (We put our own trip together from A to Z.)

My advice to you is to go do it. Book your plane tickets this month and make it happen. You'll not be disappointed.

completed this epic hike in 2013 and 2015. Amazing experience on many levels. The scenery is magnificent. We were fortunate to have sunny days throughout our hike. The food served at the mountain huts were hearty and plentiful.
Sources for water were abundant.

This is an easy relaxing trail along a beautiful river south east of France. I use to do it once or twice a year, when the weather is not good enough to go in the near Jura or Alpin mountains, and it is only 40mn from Lyon. We can see a few fishermen, cyclists, runners, and family hikers. There are places to stop for a lunch for instance at Chavanay, on the south part of the loop, or upon departure from Les Roches de Condrieu, or Condrieu. No need to mention also the famous wines: Condrieu and Côtes Roties from this area!
