On a adoré !

I was looking for a running trail, which I think is categorized as ´functional’ in this app. Gorges du Caramy are totally not a good choice for running : - you can run at the very start and very along the Caramy for 400 meters - then it becomes a 50 centimeters wide path with lot of rocks and tree roots, you can’t run on this and it last until the end of the gorge. It was really painful, lots of vegetation, you need to bend your head down, go over rocks etc. This was very boring and I thought several times about going back. Yet with the hope of a better path later on I continued. - then you get to the end of the gorge, interesting place with more light, I like it. - only then on the way back you can run, it’s a mix of red soil and rocks. It climbs on the side of the Caramy among pines trees, I liked it. You are then on a ´GR’ path that is wide. - then there you need to go down to find back the Caramy, that part is not runnable but quite short. In overall it was very disappointing, I couldn’t run so quite frustrating for me. I have read that all trails say that you can do it with kids and dogs , well I would recommend that you mr kids are at least 10 and in shape and s the first part with the narrow path is really painful (roots, rocks, vegetation etc. So for me the questions is: what does the ´functionnal’ tag means in this app ? Could it be clearer with tag ? Cheers

if you'll follow exact route, you might end up in a place densely filled with bushes that has spike. if you avoid those narrow paths, you'll end up on a nice quick hike.

We actually started and finished the walk at the Fort so we could picnic at the end of the trail.

Be warned...I did a counter clockwise loop and there is a very steep assent on loose rocks with a poorly marked trail. Definitely not dog friendly and not for the unskilled or novice hiker. Only take kids that have experience.
