Best river trails in Le Valtin, Haut-Rhin

This very popular and fairly easy loop trail can be done with a first descent or a steep climb. The Green Lake is 1044m above sea level and owes its name to the color it has (green) due to the proliferation of algae. This hike starts from the Col de la Schlucht in the Vosges mountains and takes you to Lac Vert. Along the way you will cross forests and pass the Hirschsteine rocks. To climb these rocks, you have a metal staircase available. Watch out for those who have vertigo, there is a dizzying passage on the mountainside. It is however well secured. On the way back, you will pass by the ridges from where you can enjoy lookouts over the valley of Munster and the Green Lake.Show more
