The Roches trail, also known under the names of Felsenpfad or Strohmeyerpfad, is a well-known and frequented trail in the Vosges mountains that connects the Schlucht pass to the Frankenthal, near the Hohneck. It is also considered a small piece of the Alps in the Vosges. The trail therefore begins at Col de la Schlucht and is notably marked by a blue rectangle. It will take you first to the Frankenthal-Missheimle National Nature Reserve. You will then pass between Hohneck and Petit Hohneck before reaching Lake Schiessrothried. Once you arrive at the Kastelberg farmhouse, you will return towards the Col de la Schlucht via the Wormspel pass and then the summit of Hohneck. This hike is very steep and wild. The trail puts strain on our joints, but also offers us an unforgettable view when we get to the top. Warning: The trail is not recommended in the rain because the rocks and some passages can become very slippery. It is forbidden in winter.Show more

This trail will offer you varied landscapes. You cross wild paths, tourist paths, passages in the forest, alpine landscapes and humid undergrowth. This hike also offers a superb view of the Hohneck glacial cirque.
