Leave Chamonix and take the gondola to Plan Praz, to save the initial ascent out of the Chamonix valley. Pick up the trail in Plan Praz and head northeast along the mountain. This route takes an alternate route up to Lac Blanc. The trail can be crowded. Descend from Lac Blanc and experience the first technical portions of the trail with ladders, foot grips and metal steps due to the severe steepness of the trail. Show more

Being between panoramic views of the valley and views of the peaks of the Alps, that's what you'll get on this trail. This hike is beautiful and very popular in summer. We advise you to wear a hat, good walking shoes and a bottle of water because there will be little shade.Show more

The hike is not long but difficult. This hike is even more difficult if you have been doing TMB for several days.
