Waverly, Virginie-Occidentale Map

Steep inclines for most of the trail in the beginning at the end of the trail it was all roadway for the last .7 miles. Most trail signage posted trails as difficult this app post as easy!

Nice trail until the end when you have to walk on the road. Had to take the long way around due to not knowing where to go at the trailhead by the water treatment area but still an excellent trail. Brought my 6 year old daughter and wife.

The first half the trail was nice with a good path, not gravel or paved. We got off trail a few times bc of unclear grassy areas. The second half was mostly gravel and then to make it back we had to walk along a busy, paved two-lane road. I would recommend another trail in this area.

nice trail, not lots of variety

great trail system (rode the entire system in the Fall of 2018) Came back in the Spring of 2019 with my pedal assist bike only to find out that these types of bikes are NOT allowed. Went and rode the Marietta trail system where e-mtb’s ARE allowed.

Great trails to train for OCR. Always safe and not to far from civilization. Neat to see how the woods changes from season to season.

Nice backpacking day trip!

Nice trail to review the history of the area. The trail winds through Stiles Mansion and the grounds where it was once located.

great trail for a quick half-day hike. recommended for anyone just starting out or for a quick work out.

I love going to Mountwood and hiking with my dogs. The trails are moderately challenging.

No review... yet. That picture of the rock formation under photos is known as "The Devil's Tea Table". Back in the old days, the farmers used to tell their wives they were going to work in the fields and then meet up on top of that rock to drink moonshine and play poker. When finally caught, the wives referred to it as "The Devil's Tea Table". At least this is my understanding. My grandfather's old homestead is at the bottom of the lake (before the state claimed eminent domain and bought it from the family). So many fond memories of the valley and hollows before Mountwood was constructed. Psst... I'm coming up in a few weeks to hike the trails. I haven't been on the trails since the originally opened this park. Looking forward to it. Almost Heaven... here I come! :)

great hike...park at marina...trail head across the road...take copperhead road...it will take you to the moon...loved the savannah around the moon...very pretty...wouldnt rate hard though

Excellent trail with moderate elevation gains.

This trail was so much fun! I recommend it for someone that wants to hike just a few hours. Very pretty & peaceful! I look forward to going back & exploring other trails in this area. .

Great series of trails to get out in the woods. I look forward to visiting again to explore some more of the many many trails that loop back on each other, are clearly marked, and are at worst moderate in difficulty. I recommend saving a PDF of the trail map to your phone from the website because there were no paper copies available when my son and I went. Probably not a bad idea to wear some bright colors during hunting season - we ran into a number of hunters while out on the trails. Overall, it's a great park with a lot of amenities if you want to make a weekend of camping with the family I recommend it. #OptOutside

There are tons more trails than what is shown on this map. It's a system of 30+ miles and I can't wait to keep exploring more of it! There is a great map you can download from their website and the trails are really well marked. Difficulty level is all over the place- something for everyone.

Legendary mountain biking! Lots of technical trails not for the faint of heart. Highly recommend tearing through the Haystack trail. It takes a while to get up to it but once your on the top it makes for some wicked downhill biking. 5/5 can't wait for it to get warmer

Awesome! Very tiring! The trail ratings are a little off. The easy is moderate. The moderate is difficult, and the hard is ungodly lol. Trails marked very well. Names, difficulty level and length. Went today on 9/5/15 the Saturday of Labor day weekend. First time here. Administration office was closed?! Really? Busiest weekend of the year and it's closed? Very sad. So needless to say we basically rode blind all day after driving 2 1/2 hours away from Huntington WV. Please put some maps out! Hope this info helps! Trails are rooty and rocky. But still awesome if you're a experienced mountain biker!

Marked very well. Trailheads had name, distance, difficulty, and permitted/recommended activities. 5 guys in group with varying experience and all had a blast.
