Great trail that winds through trees, dry creek beds with some good incline & decline. Round trip 3.2 miles starting at Veterans Park. I’ve lived here for 20 years and just found this hidden gem. Dogs on leashes and pickup after poo please. :)

I really enjoyed this trail. There is a frisbee golf course next to the trail and there were people out there playing not so many on the actual trail. Trail was nice and wide, not paved but hard packed stones.

Nice peaceful trail. There was a small pack of coyotes on the main trail. Just be mindful of your surroundings.

Good trail for hiking or biking. Lots of break offs and a disc golf course. It’s pretty easy trek with nice trees and a few creeks to cross.

This is my main walking trail. I've been walking this trail for over 4 years and love it. It is never the same. Usually I start at UC park and walk around there (1 mile) then on to Red Horse Park which is to the left of UC park, come through Red Horse and onto Cibilo Trail, the entire walk to Veterans Park is about 5 miles. It's a great walk there are two ravines which can get flooded after a nice rain. So you need to be careful. There are lots of animals, snakes, and birds on this trail you just have to keep an eye out for them. The deer are plentiful, the skunks are usually there in the early morning hours, there are raccoons, opossums, squirrels, lizards turtles, snakes, once in a while you might see a wild dog just keep your distance. The trail is really cool in the evenings but bring a flashlight and don't go it alone, bring a friend so you can run screaming through the woods together.

This was an excellent trail with some good declines and inclines. in my opinion it was some great exercise. one of the better trails in this area. there's a couple of low water crossings that were dry but in the event of rain or flooding you wouldn't be able to continue on the trail.

I walked this trail today and used the record function which indicated only 3.1 miles out and back. Also, I used another app(MapMyWalk) and it showed 3.17 miles. Suggest you change the distance on this particular trail to be more accurate.

The name of this trail is Cibolo Creek Main Trail, not Primitive. The trail on the other side of the creek is the Primitive Trail, Schertz side. Also, the distance per trail marker is 9,067 feet or 1.717 miles. So, 3.434 miles out and back.

Nice wide trail, Creek is high can’t cross to complete the trail

Trail is nice but with a dog can be awful. I have had many dogs off leash running up and trying to come after my dog. Also motorcyclist and ATVs that aren't supposed to be on the trail constantly. Also bicyclist tend to fly by with no care. Have been almost ran over multiple times.

Ok walk. Not much to look at.

Currently unable to walk the trail from Universal City Park to all of the way to Veterans Park as the trail is flooded by Cibolo Creek at the Nighthawk Trail trailhead. At the other end of the trail, the trailhead at Veterans Park is closed due to the flooding. The flooding is as result of the record historical rainfall in the area in September.

I hike this trail fairly often. It has good shade which is welcome on these very hot days.

Walked the trail today with my daughter. The shade along the trail is very welcome. The humidity this morning was high so it was a sweaty walk. We added the cave trail to our overall walk. Interesting limestone bluffs at the cave site.

Tried this one today, nice walk plenty of shade and saw deer!

Good surface for walking and running. Dogs on leash are allowed but be aware there are areas with dogs in backyards with damaged fencing. We had one large aggressive acting dog that was able but apparently not committed to getting out. Otherwise this was an enjoyable walk.

Great surprise to find bike ran well with some gravel spots to be wary of but great track through disc golf course very minimal traffic

Nice trail with very light traffic. Didn’t see a person while we were there.

Nice trail. A bit of gravel in some areas so be careful. Can get confusing a bit with all the different signs/markers but overall good running.
