Excellent day hike trail from Cumberland Trail Prentice Cooper Trailhead. Suggest dropping car on TN 27 and ferry up to trailhead. Traveling east to west is the ‘down version’ but still plenty of elevation change. A lot of water features, rock houses, and River Gorge views when leaves down. Poplar Springs Campsite at Mile 3.4. Highly recommend!

Nice trail. Good views in winter. Not marked well. No signs when you get to the overlook ( not sure I stopped at the right place. Easy to follow trail but intersects with others and there are no trail markers.

Nice trail. Did this one in addition to Collins Gulf at South Cumberland as part of #firsthike2020 on New Year’s Day. Was late in the day so was good for quick out and back. Will probably come back to explore more trails.

I did part of the Cumberland trail following the river in both directions with my dog. Gorgeous. Beautiful fall leaves. TONS of ticks (November)! Check yourself and pets really good!

Beautiful area with some great views over looking the valley but most of the trails are unmarked. Definitely check out the TVA Raccoon Mountain visitors center to learn more about the reservoir!

Trail is pretty, probably even more so in winter months when the leaves fall. You'd enjoy many more scenic overlooks of the gorge. Big downside here is the trails are poorly marked, and they intersect many times. We went for laurel point loop but missed a turn somewhere and had to use Google maps to get back on a trail. We popped out near the road that leads to the parking lot, and could have made the short walk to our truck, but opted to hike another 3miles on the trail we found.

lots of options. you can walk the 5ish mile hike to snoopers from the first parking lot, or drive down closer and hike 0.4 miles, or drive almost right up to the rock. the view is very worth it! if you hike in the morning, you will be looking into the sun.

Nice, well maintained trail. Hikers and bikers share the trails so just be aware. Great hike with kids, we shortened out to make just a 4 mile hike due to time constraints, it was easy to do by connecting different trails.

Several large trees obstruct or simply cross the trail. Very humid day. I don’t think I had enough bug spray on; insects in my face too often. Beautiful woods otherwise.

Good trails but needs better signage. Trails intersect and gets confusing.

Very overgrown with many fallen trees. Not great for a paced trail run. Bridges are looking a little shakey..

Trail really needs to be cleaned up. Very overgrown and several big trees have fallen across it. There is a sign saying the natural bridge is 2.8 miles... Pretty sure it's wrong, according to my Fitbit, its twice that.

Awesome quick trail! Very neat staircase in between 2 huge boulders and very peaceful hike. Full review and more pics coming soon to www.Wander-Full-Life.com

Should be moderately strenuous .
