Short quick hike. Waterfall was impressive for the time of year we went during, November. A bit crowded at times in case you have a puppy who loves to run around.

Beautiful and relaxing.

Great trail and not very crowded, thought it was a nice alternative to Gertrude’s nose. I loved that there were great views all along the trail, not just at the peak. Felt mostly flat. Fall foliage was fantastic.

This would have been a great hike but for a few things. The entire hike was very overgrown, but that's just because it's quite far from the rest Minnewaska and nobody seems to frequent it. We actually did the entire trail up to the point that it meets back up with the road before seeing another person. The start and end of this hike are a bit disconcerting. The beginning loops around behind someone's house, with private property and no trespassing signs steering you away from their yard. The end is literally someone's driveway. The first mile or mile and a half are not within the Minnewaska Preserve, and the trail is not marked at all. We followed what appeared to be ATV tracks and used the Alltrails app until we crossed into the Preserve and started seeing trail markers. Without the app it would have been easy to make a wrong turn and end up very lost. All that being said, the views at the top were quite nice and despite the condition of the trail it was still a nice day out in the woods. Took about 3 hours to complete, but would have been shorter if the hike had been better defined as we lost the trail a couple of times and needed to double back.

Excellent rewarding view from the end of the trail. Worth for easy walk!

The fall colors where amazing. actually made it a 12 mile hike with a friend. So worth it.

Magnificent views all along the trail! Not many people on this trail so had all the overlooks to myself. Hiked on 10/15/19 and the foliage seemed to be very close to it's peak. Easy carriage road the whole 8 miles. Was a little confusing which trail to take to get to the CP or HP trailhead, the park has good maps at each trailhead, well marked trails and well cared for trails, but I used the Alltrails map. You do have to pay $10 to enter the park. Would definitely hike this again!

Easy trail with amazing views. I will definitely do this one again.

Easy hike from the parking area down to Awosting Falls. In spring and early summer it can be pretty spectacular with lots of water going over. Somewhat less exciting after the dry months but still very beautiful. It pays to continue to follow the carriage road after the falls - lots of spots to pop out onto the rocks to watch the water flowing by.

Have a lot of fun today, easy trail, well maintained, amazing views

Minnewaska is full of beautiful trails and Awosting Falls is a must see. $10 parking in a monitored lot. Easy hike, the falls are right at the start of the trail. The entire area around the falls is gorgeous. Way too many people taking selfies, but we were there on a Saturday so it was to be expected. Wandered around for a while then took the Sunset trail to a lovely view, and ended up at Lake Minnewaska. Super crowded but still very scenic.

Great hike and scrambles with quite a bit of vertical. Last bit in town is along a towpath and active roads so a bit less interesting, but there's more than enough here to balance out those minor downsides. The trail is quite overgrown on the way in, and Jacob's Ladder is clearly very lightly trafficked. Keep your head on a swivel for those silver blazes. Wear pants or the scrub will tear up your shins - I may have learned that the hard way. ;-)

Easy hike in terms of elevation and little to no rock scrambling on the main carriage road. Options to stray onto various footpaths throughout the hike, which would’ve made it more challenging. There are some stunning views once you make it to the lake and begin to circle back around. At a point, you’re walking along a cliff side overlooking a valley with rolling hills and rising mountains in the background. Really beautiful colors, especially in the autumn! Half in the open and half on a shady carriage road, but so many options to stray. There were a lot of bugs, but some citronella oil did the trick and they weren’t a terrible nuisance. You will definitely feel it after this hike, simply because it is a slow incline, but LONG. Completely worth it, though. Amazing park and wonderful trail!

Pretty simple carriage road

You have to stay alert on this trail. We went on a humid day and the rocks were very slippery. But I like a challenge and look forward to doing this one with my kids but when it’s less humid.

Well trafficked and the lake’s beach area very well appointed . Did run into a rattlesnake, so would stay away from the foot paths

8/7/19 The beginning of the trail is very confusing and hard to find. You park in a parking lot right before a private driveway and have to walk through the brush on the right hand side of driveway to start. The first .3 of a mile you are walking around the persons house, trying to not cause trespassing. Once you get to the bridge it is smooth but after the first turn around 1.2 miles in it is very overgrown and had to weedwack my entire time to the ridge. The ridge is not a good view, you really don’t see anything special. Once you past the ridge it gets even worst, more weedwacking and unclear signs. Eventually you get to the silver blazers that the trail instructions talk about and again somewhat good walking. The waterfall unfortunately is not very picturesque and no real places to relax before the trek back. We did not do the loop of this trail we came back the same way we walked, the loop extra pack was to overgrown and you could easily get lost if you don’t pay enough attention. Also, while walking we counted 8 counts of bear poop all decently fresh so if you do do this trail be on the lookout for bears.
