Lovely forest trail beside a pristine trout stream the entire way. The grade is pretty gentle, but the trail is still moderate because of a few short rock-scrambling sections and creek crossings on planks. The trailhead is up the road from the parking area about 100 feet. If you take what looks like a trailhead up a very steep embankment from the parking area, you’ll walk along the spine of a rocky hill and then have to pick your way back to the trail down the hill to your left. Either way, a relatively easy and enjoyable hike in picturesque setting.

Shortly after the trail begins there is an option to go left or right. Going right takes you up a steep incline and left is more gradual. Shortly thereafter, you walk along a ridgeline with fantastic 360 degree views before turning into the forest. We lost the trail about a mile in so turned around. Trail was narrow in areas with loose gravel and icy snow, be careful!

Have hiked several trails around this area, but this has been my favorite. Took two 4 year olds and my 8 year old. Was also my wife’s first time to hike with us. We had a blast.

Starting off, there was some foot paths that were well worn so we followed them and it went straight up a ridge line. Was challenging, but the view at the top was excellent. We just followed the map straight down and bumped into the trail and then picked it up from there. Excellent views, small waterfalls along the way, well-maintained, nice trip.

This is our favorite trail on which to take guests! It is beautiful as it follows the creek and is not that difficult when people are still adjusting to the altitude. Highly recommend!

Beautiful trail - some fun scrambled along the way, but mostly moderate

Beautiful creek to follow sounds and water falls. There are several crossings over creek. Some challenges but good recovery walks in between. Took us 2.5 hours in our older 50s

Trail was in good shape and plenty of water. 8/17/19. Lots of waterfalls. Couple of places were slightly tricky as you had to climb/scramble a slight bit at a couple points. Nothing too daunting. This trail is easy on the feet all things considered.

Great hike. There was a couple of places where the trail was a bit rough to climb. Even harder coming down. Wear some good hiking boots. We needed a good workout!

Completed on August 4th, 2019 with my wife. A great trail and not heavily used at all. Several waterfalls along the way and a beautiful stream for almost all of it. Wear bug spray for the flies. Elevation was not a problem for two Texans. Plenty of shade and great views throughout.

Just finished this one with my 3&5 year old boys! They had a blast. I was a bit anxious with them on a couple of the scrambles (would be better if they had any fear), and we turned around at the 2nd big waterfall, about 1/2 way according to the map. We did lots of playing in the stream and never felt like we could be lost, despite the lack of trail markers. A fun time, we look forward to it again next year! It is important to know you need to walk that 50 yards from the parking lot, behind the guardrail on 64 to find the wooden sign that marks the trailhead! Such a neat little log stream right there!

Fun hike on 8/6 An abundance of wild flowers all along the trail. Beautiful waterfalls with trail access. Some places you need to do some minor scrambling but not too difficult. Downed trees and several stream crossings as the trail follows the stream. We started at 9am. Finished at noon. We are in our mid 60s so perfect hike for us. I would recommend this hike to all ages and abilities.
