Not so bad considering there’s about 10” of snow on the ground! Someone hiked up in snowshoes so keeping on the trail was no problem! I however hiked in my spikes and my snow boots. Very challenging. But me and my 5 month old puppy did just fine! As others have mentions definitely take the trail towards the left to start. It’s about 1-2 miles of snowmobile trail, then the trail bares left! Overall great hike! Definitely will come back in the spring time!

Good trail. My husband and I did this trail 2 days ago. After a snow fall of about 6-8 inches. Part of the trail is water logged and our spikes kept getting large chunks on them. The trail is a little confusing once it splints to the look out/summit. Good workout especially in the snow. Pretty view from the look out.

Awesome hiking today! Little ice and snow at the top. Very well marked.

Hiked this on Nov. 10th with a friend. We did Piper Mt. first, then Whiteface Mt. before returning to our cars. The weather was great for hiking—some overcast, but bright sunshine in the afternoon before clouding over again. Moderate temperatures and it was only a little windy at the top of Piper. Some snow and ice at the top, but we carried and wore micro spikes for traction, no problem. The views were beautiful! Especially loved the sections of trail along the ridge line and over ledges. Trails were very well marked, in good condition and easy to follow. We intend to come back in the spring to see wildflowers.

Very difficult to follow - use the trail on the app. A few hills covered in leaves made it difficult to climb/descend.

I quite enjoyed this trail. It offered great exercise for this old but novice hiker and provided some beautiful scenery and vistas.

This was such a delightful trail! And even though it isn’t well marked with flashing neon signs and aggressive tree painting, it’s easy to navigate up and back down. This was one of my favorites of the summer. Basically, if you follow the mountain spring up and back, you can’t get lost. Loved this very, very much. Thank you, Moose Mountain

Very challenging to find the trail head. we used the all trails directions and it took us to an empty parking area with no trail markings. we ended up stumbling upon the trail, but it was 3/4 up the trail. when we finally found the trail, it was well marked. We made it to summit & it was gorgeous. worth the trouble, but I really wish I could've started the trail from the beginning.

Beautiful foliage!

Very nice trail. Well marked. Summit quite grown in limited view but east peak has nice views and a good place to sit for lunch. Perfect fall day.

If your looking for quiet hike up a small mountain then this is the hike for you. I took my dog with me and I only passed one other person during my hike. Which is nice if you enjoy less populated areas. Bug Spray would be suggested and all the trails were marked well. There are also many other trails you can connect to off of this.

blue trail needs to be better marked approaching whiteface summit and there is no sign to even mark the summit. green trail steep on return trip to piper summit. green, orange, and white trails well marked.

Ascending back from Whiteface to Piper is a GREAT workout. Piper area felt like a fun little playground with the stone seats & benches! Not a bad in & out with some decent views throughout.

Well marked, levels out and nice hike.

We did Piper and Whiteface in a sort of split out-and-back. Started at the end of Belknap Mountain Rd, hiked up the blue trail (Whiteface Trail) and took a left to go up the green trail to summit Piper. Came back down Piper and went straight at that same intersection to summit Whiteface, then retraced to go back down and go back to trailhead the same way we came up. My only complaint is that there is no signage to indicate where the actual summits are on either Piper or Whiteface. On Piper - there is a south summit and a north summit. While the south summit is actually the "true" summit, apparently North is required for the Belknap hiking patch so we'll have to go back to tag the north summit. For just an out-and-back to Piper North we'll prob do the white trail from the upper Carriage Rd. parking lot.

Great trail with pretty views on the summit and East Peak. Parked at the trailhead and it was 3 hrs roundtrip with our dog. Didn't see anyone else on the trail.
