This is a lovely 1.7 mile walk to a very misnamed spring - Mud Spring, which is crystal clear and empties into Mud Creek. The trail is very well marked with mint green blazes (double marked where the trail turns) and features a nice picnic area at the Spring. We saw an otter walking along the trail on the way back!

great hike.. all through here are several different routes. there is also a spring to cool yourself off, even our dog loved getting in and swimming around.

A very nice, well maintained and marked trail. This is in a fee area, so remember to bring $2/person cash or check. At the spring halfway around the course there is a nice picnic area and a bathroom. This trail is part of the State of Florida's TrailWalker program. I saw two deer while running this trail. There were also three women walking their dogs. It's nice to see the trails actually being used. The current route map for this trail covers far more than the marked Mud Spring Trail. According to the Florida Forest Service, the trail is 2 miles inn the description, 1.75 miles on their map, and my GPS actually listed the length as only 1.66 miles. You may wish to double check the route on the Forest Service's web site: https://www.fdacs.gov/Divisions-Offices/Florida-Forest-Service/Our-Forests/State-Forests/Welaka-State-F

Easy trail. No traffic while we were there. Spring is the perfect cool down mid hike.

Awesome trail to hike down. There is a new (light blue) trail that goes between orange point and St. John’s that one of the park rangers told us about. That trail goes down the river and was much more scenic than the rest of the trail.

This was our first trail taken from the app. This spring was a beautiful stop along the loop. The are bathrooms there if needed. Beautiful Wild magnolia trees are a all along the path. There were a few damp spots but nothing that obstructs. Birds were heard but none were sited. Small skinks darted across our Path often on our hike. We really enjoyed ourselves and look forward to the next hike.

Awesome natural springs. Beautiful!

Nice trail. Well marked and easy but some places had no shade. I found a nicer trail between Orange Point and Johns Landing campsites. It ran along the edge if the lake (blue marker). Possibly new since it was not on any of the printed materials.

amazing gem!!! water feels amazing! definitely be back, lots of other trail options.

Short trail, the springs are pretty and worth a look.

This is an easy trail to walk, well marked and well maintained. The nearby town of Welaka has several places to eat.

Check for ticks! Nice trail but have encountered snakes, bears, fire ants, mosquitos and gators by the water. Has all the things florida nature has to offer. I hike it at least 4 times a year
