This is a great loop, but beware Blue Grass Ridge is tough. D K was not using hyperbole when he said he had to scramble over 300 down trees - if anything that is an understatement. The trail essentially disappears and you have to pretty much bushwhack through most of the ridge. It took me much longer than expected to cross that 5 mile stretch of the loop. The rest of the loop is pretty well maintained and isn't too difficult. Went alone and did not see another human the entire time. beware though, you will need to cross the stream twice and there isn't a bridge. I waded across because I didn't want to risk falling off a log. Lots of fun if you are looking for a quiet trial in the Mt. Hood Wilderness!
