This trail took 4 hours for a family with 2 kids 7 and 10 years. I would rate it moderate, part of it required climbing up the hill. The views from the hill are amazing. Loved the part along the river and waterfalls.

I would advise starting this hike in a counterclockwise direction. It’s also not an easy trail, so moderate is a better classification. Really great rock scrambles over water and just enough peaks and valleys. For its elevation, the view is good, but not great. We switched trail blazes 6-7 times, so it’s really important to know exactly which blaze you’re switching off to, so that when the trails intersect each other, you take the right route. I wish I had noted each color blaze we took, but I’m not confident in remembering the exact chronological order, so I won’t list them here. The red/white trail could use some repainting, as some are really faded.

Very nice trail. Lots of ups and downs. nice views. I went counter clockwise, and I'm glad I did so that the second leg had less rock scrambles.

Great hike! Fantastic views of NYC, a waterfall, fun river crossing and a serious workout. But not an easy rating! Equivalent of 90 flights of stairs in 5.1 miles. And yes it’s 5.1 for this loop. Went out and turned left at blue trail after the river crossing. Next time going to do the trail in reverse.

This IS NOT a 5.1 loop hike. We started at Otterhole > Blue Trail > White Trail > Chikahoki Falls > Yellow Trail > Carris Point where the yellow trail ends. We were at 3 miles in at that point. The Blue Trail crosses at Carris Point and we were running out of time so we went back down the Blue trail and toward the parking lot. THAT loop was 5.11 miles. The views are amazing but I'm giving this a 1 star because the loop calculations are not accurate. From what Alltrails shows as the '5 mile' loop is probably closer to 7 miles.

Nice hike we started out at otter hole, the yellow trail, up to blue then white to see the falls and back. There is a good size creek crossing where yellow turns to blue.

I believe this is the trail we came Down from the high point. Feom the parking lot it’s called the highland trail it was a aqua blue trail with the green. To get to the top you have to go up to green and then yellow then orange then red and white to the top. It was definitely a lot less challenging then the scramble of the blue. This trail from the trail head is the fork on the left side when you see all the trail head colors.

Conditions were very wet and rainy today. I pieced together a route very similar to this offering and found that while there were some stretches of great singletrack, the majority is very rocky and highly technical for trail running. This park is, in my opinion, great for hiking and seeing the views (we ran into two very brave deer towards the peak) but it is not a highly enjoyable trail run. It may be more enjoyable when dry as slipping on the numerous rocks would be less of a concern
