A relatively easy hike beginning at the Green River Toll House parking lot. Consider visiting displays there if open or having a picnic lunch under the pavilion. Leave the trailhead and hike over the historic Green River iron bridge. Continue downslope along the meandering trail through restored native grass estuary. You are also on a Tebb's Bend Battlefield campsite (see signage). Stop for a view of the Beaver Pond. Soon the trail will enter the Green River Floodplain. Continue straight along the path towards the Green River past a 2002 bottomland hardwood restoration. As you near the river look for a small trail through the riparian vegetation leading to the river’s edge—a small gravel bar evident during low water is most like the site of the historic Tate-Sublett Landing. Return along your path and turn left to walk along the levee of the Blue Heron Wetland. This is a scenic and wildlife-rich environment most any time of the year. Watch for wading birds, ducks, dragonflies or small mammals like beaver or muskrats. Turn around at the overlook structure and return to the the iron bridge and Toll House Trailhead. This site was purchased with funding by the Kentucky Heritage Land Conservation Fund and Nature's Finest License Plate sales.

Nice hike with views of a wetland, forest restoration site and the scenic Green River. Some of the bottomland sections of the trail can be muddy after substantial rain but otherwise it is a smooth walk with lots of wildlife and good views.
