Did this hike 1/3/20 with a friend.. Tough. First 8-10 mi or so was relatively easy with some rolling hills. Descent to Hauser Creek was long and climb out was steep and difficult. Amazing views throughout the hike. Brought 5L of water which was just enough. Saw a few seasonal water spots. Most times of year they are dry. Had lunch in the shade at Hauser Creek to rest our legs before the big climb out. You’ll need the energy to make the climb. Quite a bit of elevation changes throughout the hike. We did the entire 18.7 miles in just under 8 hours. A map of gps is helpful. Although the trail is well marked, you can easily miss a turn off if your not paying attention. There are a number of trails, seasonal creek runoff spots, and fire roads that can be a bit confusing. Saw one person, a trail runner the entire time. Border patrol presence in a couple areas.
