This trail is so so beautiful! Cuyamaca peak was very windy but there was a lot of shade cover with the setting sun We set camp at arroyo seco primitive camp (1.5 miles from green valley parking lot, $5 per person) 3 campsites, water spigot at the site, I used a filter for the water but it’s likely fine. Boil if you forget a filter or carry a lot of water in. There is zero water on this trail besides green valley and arroyo seco. I’ve heard aroyyo seco is spotty too so be mindfu of precious season rainfall. After dropping off a majority of gear at aroyyo seco camp: we daypacked 5 miles up to Cuyamaca peak and another 5 miles back down to arroyo seco. Trail was glorious. The fox trail is the only more overgrown portion, but it’s a shortcut so it makes sense Great trip for beginners
