We starred in rose valley rd to rose valley camp ground. There is a gate on the right just as you come into the camp ground. Go around the gate and start the uphill grind. Most of the fire road is walking your bike. At the top you come out at nordoff ridge rd. Go left for 2.5 miles and you will see gridly on your left. Enjoy a fun down hill back into town. This trail is a grind up and narrow single track down with steep drop offs. A full suspension bike is suggested. If you are hiking this start early bring lots of water and snacks and be ready for a long day.

The majority of the trail was good, but Mother Nature is making frequent and numerous strides to take back her territory with dirt and scree. I'd want to hear from someone else before doing it again after the season rains. The third sign from the trailhead is not clear if you are not familiar with the trail. The Lion Canyon Trail is on the hill to the left, not up the canyon. Tall grass may obscure the path. Lion Creek had a nice flow because of the recent rains.
