The Corralitas Red Car trail follows the right-of-way of the old red line train, starting at the historic Holyland Exhibition Museum, and ending at the Silver Lake Stonehenge -- the footings for the old Fletcher Street Viaduct. Along the way are old staircases and hidden artifacts from the red line.

A dirt path between some nice houses that turns into a dirt road between some not so nice houses that leads to an overlook of Fletcher and Riverside Drive.

This is not a traditionally "pretty" hike, but it's an interesting one, mostly for the history and unique views of L.A. The trail starts at the historic Holyland Exhibition, founded in 1924 by A.F. Futterer, the inspiration for "Indiana Jones" and inventor of the Eye-O-Graphic Bible Study System. (Call ahead for reservations to tour.) The trail ends at the Stonehenge of Silver Lake, i.e., the old footings for the Fletcher Street viaduct of the old red car line. Very fun if you are in the area, and you can easily add this to a longer route with the outdoor staircases of Silver Lake.
