This trail takes you through fields and rich deciduous forests, sometimes moist, sometimes dry. This makes Häckeberga one of Skåne's most valuable forests. The richness of plants and animals is very large and meetings with deer or red deer are not unusual. Inside the big forest, Höje winds up, rocky and with occasional rapids, where dandelions usually winter. At the ruin after the Häckeberga mill, Skåne's roughest bones grow. A shrub that just grew to become a tree. Follow the sandy path through the skinny rice. Here are lime-rich hills with backsippe, moist sinks with orchids and unusual frogs in the puddles. From the dry you meet the opposite right next door: Forest beds, a wetland for bird life and surrounding old trees with lichens, mushrooms and beetles. Since the Middle Ages, the area has been dominated by Häckeberga estate. The great noble woods, the avenues and the amount of farms and villages are the result. Even the lavish church in Genarp shows their importance. The church itself is unique and the only one in Skåne that dates from the 16th century. Without knowing it, you suddenly go on a broad and historically interesting road. The old Bedevägen was prepared in the late 17th century and became the important road between Lund and Ystad, for both troops and travelers. Today, the road is divided into 3-4 alternatives, arising when the main course became muddy and difficult to reach. A distance away is the river's only case and the ruins of Häckeberga mill. Here the farmers got their grain milled for flour.
