Quite quickly after you get off the train you can walk through the beautiful and authentic center of Stedum. There you can admire the imposing Romano-Gothic Bartholomew church (with beautiful vault paintings from the 15th century), this church is usually open for a visit. After the village forest you will make a beautiful walk along many canals and ditches right through the wide Groningen field and meadow landscape. This is mainly done on quiet cycle paths, quiet farm concrete plate roads, a single long country road and a long but also quiet asphalt road. Along the way you walk in a few minutes through the picturesque, characteristic Groningen village of Lellens, where you will enjoy the beautiful church and the paths around it. Once at Stedum, you can walk across the leafy Laan van Nittersum to the station.
