A circular walk from Hees that leads to the Goffert and past many interesting buildings. Start at the Stenen Bank and then walk along the Korte Bredestraat, the Kerkpad (always beautiful) and the Melkweg to the park on the Kometenstraat. Here keep left and cross the Uranusstraat and Wolskuilseweg to the Distelpark. From here, keep right and cross the Molenweg and take the Distelstraat. As you head out of Hees, walk through the renovated and newly built neighborhood of Portaal. At the end of the Distelstraat, you will have to climb a high staircase. Then you have arrive at the foothills of the Nijmegen ridge. There is such a beautiful view of the Looimolen or Witte Molen here. It has been running there since 1760 with varying success. It was first to grind tanning powder, later (from 1907) it became corn. After renovation and the fire in 1987, he grinds 160,000 kg of grain per year. From here, keep to the right and descend another staircase for a mini nature reserve that runs along the Graafse road. At Floraweg, cross the Wolfkuilseweg for the Oude Graafse weg. Here you will pass Bartels' hundred-year-old steam washing facility. Under the slogan: 'Bartels irons, washes, brings you joy instead of burden', the people of Nijmegen had their laundry done here. An ugly façade staircase disrupts the historical data on the wall. Walk along the Augustijnenklooster and again enter a small forest that runs parallel to the Graafse weg. This grove ends at the Verbindingsweg where you can cross the Graafseweg. Continue here to the pedestrian crossing and the kink in the Muntweg. Now turn right and then left again for the Goffertpark. The park celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2014 and was built in the 1930s as a job creation project for the unemployed. That was less voluntary than it is today, because it was compulsory and hard work. The hole that was dug out for the stadium at the time was also referred to as the "blood bullet" in popular speech. 80,000 cubic meters of land is not nothing. At the time, NEC and Quick did not want to play at all in the stadium, it was far too expensive. They were at the Hazenkamp for little money at the time. Now you can enjoy the many beautiful things, such as the rose garden, the open air theater, the NEC stadium and the Goffertbos, where you walk along in that order. When you have rounded the stadium on the right hand side (via the Eendracht), walk an unpaved path at an appropriate distance from the Daleslaan. Then pass through the largest war graves cemetery in Nijmegen. There are around 1500 casualties (mainly British) lying here where the Waal crossing was prepared in the Second World War. It always makes people feel small when they walk past the graves. Leave the park and arrive at the 52-degree building designed by Francine Houben (incidentally, it is located at 51 ° 49'28 N). It has 18 floors and with its prismatic bend it is a striking building that can be seen well in the evening in Hees. Via the Muntmeesterlaan head back to Hees, but not before you have walked the Muldersweg to be able to walk past the old gas station of Autopalace. A jewel of the architecture of the New Objectivity. It seems that at that time you could see the station light up from Grave. Via Dennenstraat and Danielsweg, enter Hees again along the Jozefklooster.
