Through Three Provinces. A rural route that runs through all three provinces along small nature reserves and sometimes long paths, which are unpaved here and there. Start with an interesting nature reserve: Allardsoog or Hunneschans. Here is a Landweer or Landgraaf that was to prevent gangs from Drenthe from entering Friesland. Such weather consists of a water channel and a wall with high undergrowth. Excavations have been made of burial mounds from the Neolithic in this area. You will also walk past a war memorial here. A few days before the liberation, nine men were shot upside down, including the artist and printer Hendrik Werkman. You will find here the first Volkshogeschool and a Nivon house and finally a large border post that marks the three-provincial point. In short, a small piece of land here with a lot of history, which is also called the "nose of Drenthe". Walk from here or straight paths to America, which is dominated by an old sand excavation, which is nowadays a recreational resort: The Ronostrand. Pass the village of Zevenhuizen a short distance away. A young village that originated from the peat excavations and which was the first to be used for the use of Windows 7 (advertising stunt). From here walk on a straight road 100 meters from the provincial border to Leek, a village that grew up with peat canals. You can also trot with horses here. And skating is also possible: you can skate away to all corners of the world, if there is ice of course.
