This is a nice walk in Drenthe between the villages of Vledder and Doldersum, almost exclusively on unpaved paths. On the first part of the route you will walk through the woods of the Boschoord estate, which are owned by the Maatschappij van Weldadigheid. The organization was established to combat poverty through agricultural colonies. Because the soil here was not fertile enough, forest was eventually planted. On the second part of the trip you will arrive in a more semi-open landscape with heather fields, fens and farmland: the Vledderveld. You will have to cross the Vledderesch and walk across the beautiful Vledderhof estate with its stately lanes with rhododendrons and American oaks. The estate is located here around 1740, the mansion was built in 1860. There are many amphibians and reptiles on the estate. Enjoy the unprecedented peace and quiet in this area!
