This walk starts on the "Rathausplatz". The first symbol of the "Lippeauenweg" L1 hiking trail can be found on the tree for the children's carousel. Walk along the Maria Church over the market square in the direction of the Stadtmuseum. From there you walk right into the "Marktstraße", cross the "Cappelstraße" and arrive at the "Stiftsstraße". You enter the "David-Gans-Straße" on the left and after about 30 m you enter the "Stiftsfreiheit". At the end of the street you can enter the monastery grounds to view the ruins. From the "Stiftsfreiheit" walk right into the "Soeststraße", continue over the bridge over the Lippe and continue on "Bückeburger Straße" until the bridge over the "Umflut" watercourse. After the bridge turn left, keep left and arrive at a footpath that runs parallel to the Lippe. Continue to follow this path until you reach a pedestrian bridge. You cross this bridge and you thus arrive at the "Hellinghäuser Weg". Go to the right in a westerly direction, you see the street "Am Nahtfeld" on the left and you take a footpath to the right for a bridge towards the church. At the end of the road there is a lookout tower on the right, which offers a wonderful view of the flora and fauna of the 'Hellinghäuser Mersch'. Nearby is the St. Clemens Church, which contains the "stone bread". The further road leads us along the stream "Gieseler" back to the main street "Hellinghäuser Weg", over which you walk left in the direction of Lippstadt. After approx. 700 m, cross the "Hellinghäuser Weg" and arrive at the street "Im Nahtfeld", which you will walk in the direction of Overhagen. For the underpass under the railway, turn left into the "Zur Ausschacht" road, which runs parallel to the Hamm-Kassel railway line. You go right at the end of the road. After the rail tunnel, bend sharply to the left and continue on a footpath that again runs parallel to the track. After 500 meters you reach a small, low rail tunnel on the left, which you continue. You then turn right into the "Tonhüttenweg", which you follow for about 500 m to the east. You arrive at a turning loop, then you turn left and you cross the "Stirper Straße" at the pedestrian light. Pass the "Dreifaltigkeitshospital" in the "Klosterstraße". Immediately after the "Dreifaltigkeitshospital" you will find the rose garden "Sankt Annen Rosengarten" on the left behind a wall of natural stone, where you can see the foundations of a monastery. To the right is the majestic Nikolaikerk. Now cross the "Cappelstraße" and enter the "Kahlenstraße". Then turn left to the "I. Pfad “. At the end you walk left into "Fleischhauerstraße" and after approx. 50 m you go right into "Dunkle Pfad", cross "Poststraße" and continue straight on into "Helle Halle". At the end you will arrive at the Maria Church and again at our starting point, the "Rathausplatz".
