All I can say is OMG what a view! Pick a sunny bright day and you’ll never regret it. It is a steady climb from the parking lot but the pay off is incredible. It’s a good trail too with good footing although steep in some areas.

It’s a 7km in-and-back trail with quite steep inclines/descends. The hike took us an hour up and an hour back down but you’ll want to spend a little time at the top as the views are incredible! A great hike, well worth doing, and we only saw one other couple as we were finishing, so it’s a nice and quiet trail too.

Best hike on the west coast of NL in terms of a short, steep hike for a huge payoff of amazing views. Check the weather before heading out, if it’s windy at the base it’ll be crazy at the top. We got lucky and had a calm, partly cloudy day. On a clear day you can see back to Corner Brook and the whole bay of islands. Snow free and hardly any bugs.

One of the best hikes we’ve ever done. Certainly a challenge, and do check weather (avoid days with fog or after heavy rains) but the best view of the Bay of Islands hands down.

Amazing hike. Beautiful views. Took bout 1.5 hours up, 45 minutes down. Follow the blue and red flagging and be rewarded with an amazing view. Don’t disturb the mountain spirit residing in the shrubs.

I hiked this trail many years ago and it still sticks with me to this day. The view from the top is amazing! We brought our tent with us and pitched it at the summit. That night we learned why it was called Blow-Me-Down. Our tent was ripped apart and I thought we would be blown clear off the mountain. I highly recommend this trail but be careful and watch the weather forecast because the weather can change very quickly.
